Political Correctness Run Amuck — Ft Hood — Heedless Borders

It’s a wonder we won World War II . . .

Mark Steyn writing at Jewish World Review abstracts an article by Mariah Blake in Mother Jones magazine that lays out in painstaking detail how, for (admitted killer) Major Hasan’s victims, the United States Government has spent the last four-and-a-half years adding insult to the injuries he inflicted.  The White House Broke Its Promise to the Victims of the First Fort Hood Shooting. Will History Repeat Itself?

We were reminded in Steyn’s article about something we expressed dismay over, oh that nearly half decade ago, when we first heard it. It was in reference to Hasan and the response of then Army Chief of Staff General George Casey to a rare implied acknowledgment by the questioner that a Muslim just might carry an anti Crusader orientation under his or her uniform.

When asked on NBC’s “Meet the Press” whether Muslim soldiers are conflicted in fighting wars in Muslim countries like Afghanistan and Iraq, Casey said:  “I think that’s something that we have to look at on an individual basis. But I think we as an Army have to be broad enough to bring in people from all walks of life.” . . .  and as horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think that’s worse,”

So, in the interests of diversity, the Army benefits from a healthy dose of jihadists ? Didn’t military strength used to come from unit cohesion and uniformity? It’s a wonder we won WWII.  We guess more communists in the ranks would have helped us keep South Vietnam free.

Yep, Bush said it  . . .  defrauding American children not so bad

Jeb Bush, former Florida governor, in an interview last week at his father’s presidential library, said that people who come to America illegally to provide a better life for their families “broke the law, but it’s not a felony, it’s an act of love.”  His statement was part and parcel with the main theme being used to browbeat conservatives to roll over and support comprehensive immigration reform along the lines proposed by Paul Ryan and previously at least, Marco Rubio.  Opposition is ignorant, uncaring and mean spirited.

Of course were it to pass not one of the supposedly strict provisions would  be defended by current Republican leadership . . . and after the inevitable political results of the reforms take hold, the creation of more and more dependents on government programs who will vote Democrat, all meaningful provisions will be ignored or amended out of existence.

Bush’s statement was roundly and justifiably ridiculed by conservatives for missing the point about our current unsustainable combination of lack of immigration enforcement, welfare largess and the quite rational zero political confidence in the proposed “comprehensive” reforms.

One also wonders just what is a felonious level of fraud in Jeb’s parlance, no matter who benefits? And what about stealing from the children of U.S. taxpayers and saddling them with welfare debt service?   Walk in, U.S. taxpayers pick up the tab for the children, no problem, you meant well for someone.

If Jeb’s real argument is that there are economic benefits to unbridled or fault free immigration, under a generous welfare state, as if and as long as it is only for the children, then argue that.  But cut the crap about conservatives not being concerned about people.

And when will we hear in equal emotive force from Jeb Bush, the admonition to those illegal immigrant parents, that their first obligation, as opposed to illegally immigrating here, is to work to clean up their own countries mess, at least while they apply for orderly immigration under our laws.

You gotta love good ole Jeb. Somebody should get his take on the Bundy Ranch. He probobaly thinks free grazing cattle are more of a problem than illegals. Also does Michelle pay a fee for the WH garden, or is she a free grazer also?
