Davenport: Who knew all these felons were really peace and justice warriors

My opinion from what has been revealed is that this area’s general curfew is an excessive unnecessary response and an assault on the civil liberties of everyone, black and white, The indications that the gunplay was tangential to the anti-racism protests was known but ignored.   More “do something even if it is wrong”

All eight arrested were felons AND known local bad-actors

Read it and weep, for true justice

The area shootings appear to be mostly opportunistic gang-banger bullshit — creating and using the cover of mayhem to loot a jewelry store or any target of opportunity.  I am thinking the gang-bangers shot each other and killed one of their own in a dispute.  One report indicated the female victim was a protestor and not connected to the gangs.  That would be a tragedy.

The officer(s) shot and shot at were very lucky and thank God for that.  Reports indicated bullets hit the headrests of the vehicle they were in.  My impression is that they were not targeted as part of some “days of rage scenario” but the felonious evil in the hearts of the perpetrators.  These were not peace and justice protest shootings.  The officers were shot investigating activity in a residential neighborhood apart from the larger protest gathering.

Read the story at the QC Times and let us know your opinion if my conjecture is likely or not.  There are other related reports about the protests Sunday that  we will comment on in a future post.
