Are you ready for some return fire ammunition for the coming assault on Republicans by the Democrat media machine? It will be a constant drum beat associating greed and Republicans and all matters politically incorrect . . . the implication being Democrats are selfless in their politics and personal lives.
We Republicans are certainly not sinless or scandal proof. But it is often portrayed that our sins and scandal are somehow worse, compounded by the charge of “hypocrisy,” never mind the hypocrisy in making the charge. Maybe we should be proud of our occasional “hypocrisies” because at least in this day and age it implies that we know what is wrong.
On a number of matters Democrats simply seek to obviate the charge by adopting the wrongs as “rights” . . . so called “victimless crimes” at least when it comes to Democrats. Political and union graft corruption and intimidation are often dismissed as “Republicans do it too” or “solidarity is for the greater good of workers” and “its time to move on.” Being a Democrat means rarely having to say you are sorry, and if you do say so, that should end the matter.
We are not going to let them off that easy.
The dominant liberal media, religious social justice pimps and other Democrat hacks (essentially paid partisans) are prone to talk and write about Republican linked corruption. But they really cannot get away from what, strangely, seems to be the worst sin in their book, hypocrisy. That is because they also like to wrap themselves in the flag of “fairness” and “objectivity” and “balance” and “compromise” and “doing the people’s business,” “transparency” and the latest gag enduser, “civility.” In reality they rarely exhibit any of those concepts. They grotesquely violate them while calling for conservatives to adhere to them.
Every one of the scandals or scandal linked personages listed below primarily involve Democrats. They primarily involve personal financial gain or large unethical political fund raising aggrandizement, and usually lies and various abuses of power. The criterion for listing is adjudicated criminality, admitted or administratively confirmed ethics violations, notorious moral turpitude while in a position of high honor, rank political hypocrisy, and national security breaches (we didn’t say treason). I skipped nickle dime sex scandals unless they became notorious because of the high profile position of the office holder. I skipped drug alcohol and domestic charges unless they rose to a notorious level (a high hurdle for Democrats) . Also skipped were less notorious political crimes unless they involved a Senator or high ranking House member that rose to a level of notoriety.
Understand that for Democrat corruption to be covered by the dominate liberal press, it was at least as bad as reported. A synopsis could be supplied to each but for the purposes of this article a basic listing should be enough. We invite readers whose memories are not jogged by the mere mention to “google” or visit “wikipedia” searching the name of the perp or the scandal for sufficient information to establish the veracity of the listing herein.
Listing here is not to imply that in some cases Republicans were not involved, only that they were not in control of the scandal although they were in control of themselves. Additional context to this is the tendency of the liberal mainstream media to equivocate regarding them, being sure to play-up any “bipartisan” aspect, not referring to party affiliation for Democrats when they do for Republicans, slow acknowledgment of the offense, and then burying and killing the story, and of course the extent of breathless coverage national media “invest” in Republican linked scandals compared to a “no-story here” approach to virtual endemic big-government Democrat linked corruption.
Some of the listings provided here are from scanning http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_federal_political_scandals_in_the_United_States. And associated with the above site: http://en.wikipedia.org /wiki/List_of_American_federal_politicians_convicted_of_crimes#2009.E2.80.93_.28Obama_.28D.29_presidency.29 and also http://en.wikipedia.org /wiki/List_of_American_state_and_local_politicians_convicted_of_crimes.
To be sure one will find plenty of Republican corruption, but not as frequent and in our judgement, when it did happen, was generally not of the same breadth and scale

Of course these are petty crimes compared to the crimes liberal Democrat policies inflict on Americans . . . overwhelming debt, increased welfare, social and cultural decay.
In closing, as Representative Adam West remarked recently, “When you look at the history of the black community with the Democratic Party, you see slavery, you see segregation, you see the Jim Crow Laws, you see secession and now you see socialism which is really not beneficial to the black community.”
We might add that it would be at least arguable to portray Democrats as the party of : sophistry and sacrilege, sand bagging the constitution, scoundrels and schemers, screech owls, screw balls, stooges, sedition, self-deception (our kindest disapprobation not applicable to Democratic leadership), sellouts, sepsis, phony sermonizers and we haven’t gone through half of the S words yet, . . . add cynicism if we add the use of phonetics to the litany.
