News You Can Use From Scott County Republican Web Site

Dateline July 11, 2012 Scott County Iowa, . . .  the “current” lead story on the News page on the Scott County Republican Web Site, “Rick Perry and Herman Cain try to do campaign damage control”  That’s right folks, the first place local Republican activists are encouraged to go to for news of relevance to Republicans, still leads off with a November 18th 2011 story, seven months after the story.

Now to be sure on the SCR Web Site there are available the effervescent calendar notifications (that relate to a very limited number of events of interest to Republicans) and there is the social media and youtube area, devoted to Chairwoman Judy, and by “social” media’s nature, more personal quips than studied political analysis. There are probably even some occasionally useful items of some archival import.

However, the putative portal to the community for Republican thought and affairs, the Web Site, has nothing steady to convince people to be Republicans, defend the platform, or even seriously defend Republicans.   It does nothing to take on Democrats in principle. However elements of the leadership of Scott County Republican Party  take credit for “registering Republicans” and growing the party.  Political candidates do, when they argue issues, and primarily, Barack Obama does, by being Barack Obama.  But the Scott County Republican Web site could be replaced by an occasional robo call, be far more comparatively effective, and provide as much information.
