We are adding Godfather Politics to our illustrious conservative blogroll. A couple of articles therein, along with the discussion they engendered, make some good points that well meaning defenders of liberty and the Constitution I hope will take to heart.
To those few remaining recalcitrant “write in Ron Paul or Gary Johnson or whoever” liberty supporters: understand that tactically from an internal political perspective, if Romney isn’t what is needed for this country, it will become evident, and those who came into the Party to make improvements in consistency and adherence to the platform are enhanced. Surely that is Rand Paul’s practical wisdom and was Ron Paul’s as well. There is no sizable competitive third party alternative and it is much harder to achieve one than to convince the Republican Party to be more consistent.
However coming into the only viable alternative Party to outright socialism, and then opposing the nominee, however imperfect, but much improved as he came to understand the heart of the Party, breeds a disaster for the country. Obama certainly is not what is needed, indeed he is disastrous, and if reelected, it likely results in end of game for liberty.
