If only those liberals who have steadfastly supported Obama for their own various reasons, would take five minutes to read this Victor Davis Hanson column, possibly they would begin to see and acknowledge the reality of this guy. And possibly, if enough were to do so, the disaster this nation is rapidly hurtling toward could be averted.
The Bob Woodward/Ron Fournier/Lanny Davis psychodrama is another small reminder that the Obama administration continues to assume that the press should be little more than a veritable Ministry of Truth. Its proper duty is to serve the White House and promote the progressive agenda of Barack Obama. Any were considered suspect who questioned whether those exalted ends should really be achieved by any means necessary — but they were so few and far between that it mattered little.
Sadly, though, our hopes that liberals will read Hanson is not likely. Liberals I have had and continue to have conversations with will not read this, nor with any open mindedness, watch FOX NEWS, or , heaven forbid!, expose themselves to the “rantings” of Rush Limbaugh.
These are not “low information” voters. These are “well informed” (in my view, “mal-informed”), sophisticated, middle aged successful professionals. Avid readers of the NY Times, listeners and viewers of public radio and television, will watch Rachel Madow, but not, ugh, Sean Hannity.
This column provides a fairly comprehensive review and analysis of Obama, his aims, and his strategy in a remarkably concise commentary. Most Veritas readers will not be alerted to much that is new to them, but will find Hanson’s column so accurate and well reasoned that perhaps it will spur further effort to do whatever possible to arouse awareness among those idealistic, but less committed to Obama’s Marxist/communist agenda and, just maybe, help in the rescue of this great nation.
The members of the QC Times editorial board would be well advised to become exposed to, and, conversant with Hanson and his past and future writings. Not likely, though. DLH
