From a frequent commenter:
I forgot to comment last week about those PR experts in the Scott County Republican (SCRCC ) leadership . . . of course they did the same thing last year too. So we pull up to the July 31st Wednesday night River Bandits game and what do we see? The truck with the trailer attached to it sitting right out in front of the stadium with the big plastic elephant and banner saying “Vote Republican.” Was it GOP night ? (had no idea before we came or later).
Like déjà vu all over again there was NOBODY out there greeting people or doing ANYTHING! Just a big plastic elephant! I ranted last year about this game saying that if this were the Democrats they would have 4 people working a table getting everybody registered to vote!
I came home last Wednesday night from the game and went straight to the SCR website and nothing of course. Went to Facebook and nothing about the game (only talking about a table at the fair). No mention of any GOP presence prior to a game with 3,500 people in attendance.
The icing on the cake was when I tried to go to their Twitter, from the link provided on their own website, and it says the page doesn’t exist! And a week later after just now trying it again the SCR Twitter is still down! Go ahead try it for yourself halfway down the page in the right hand column…
For a bunch of people (the SCRCC leadership) who say they want to reach out to more people than white males, they sure do suck at reaching out to basically anybody. They can’t even use a 15 foot elephant sitting on a float at the River Bandits game on GOP night for 2 years in a row right! Nor can they even run Twitter right!! *
Calm down Roy, you will be pleased to see that they are way ahead of the game when it comes to Flickr. Visiting their “latest” post at the screpublicans Flickr page (you can’t miss it, it is their only entry) we see that they have anticipated Governor Perry running for President in 2016. It is all about economy of posting. As regards the hollow elephant, we wonder if maybe it does not appropriately represent the leadership . . . empty, but still hard to move. R Mall
We need volunteers and money to support limited government, Constitution abiding,
conservative candidates. Support for this empty gesture group is futile.
