Does anyone doubt that House Speaker and GOP mastermind, in eagerly agreeing to support the President’s Syrian adventure, was able to extract huge concessions from Mr. Obama on a wide variety of contentious issues in return?
Yep. I do. In the (wholly unassured) event that Republicans retain control of the House in 2014, the retention of Boehner and Cantor in that body’s leadership should be enough to insure a complete sweep by Democrats in 2016.

Many have believed that the naming by President Obama of John Kerry and “Chuck” Hagel to their Cabinet posts was a grim joke. This column by Jim Geraghty vividly exposes just how unfunny that joke is.
These two guys, along with their boss, represent the fondest hope of America’s enemies for this country’s ultimate destruction. One is a traitorous buffoon (Mr. Kerry: “(GI’s in Vietnam)…cut off ears , attached electrodes to genitals…”; “Can I git me a huntin’ license…?”) and a hapless, bewildered little man in a job way above his abilities and intellectual capacity (Hagel).
But they’re both “buddies” of John McCain and another GOP “leader”, John Boehner, doesn’t even haggle over the price of the swampland they sold him.

I like Stuart Varney of Fox News and respect his opinions. He supports a limited attack on Assad’s Syria in response to the (alleged) use of WMD by his regime.
However, I respect John Bolton’s opinion perhaps a great deal more when it comes to issues like Syria.
Here are his comments. I found his reference to the “candy store is wide open for Dem congressmen.” That says it all in analyzing the Obama style of governance. DLH
Ed. Note: – it says something about Boehner as well. Andrew McCarthy has still more important points to add in opposition to “picking enemies” in Syria. See those insightful comments here. We were a bit agnostic yesterday. We are quickly becoming a convicted non believer (in a Syrian war effort). Bolton and McCarthy are very convincing . . . along with our very articulate readership (see comments to our previous post). R Mall
Looks like Boehner is packing it in after his term is up-

Anybody wanna take odds on how quick it takes him to slime his party after he is done?
