The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
Readers can decide whether The Good achieved is more or less countered by The Bad. Whether continuing one boondoggle in some cases was a good trade for ending another. . . and whether genuinely important good things couldn’t have been achieved by actually playing well the hold cards ♠ ♣ ♥ ♦ Republicans had without the level of concessions they gave to Democrats. But there can be no question that the Republican leadership supplied The Ugly.
The House vote apparently occurred less than 48 hours after the measure became public, even though Republicans promised a 72-hour review period for legislation during their campaign to take over the House in 2010. The Ugly is further aggravated by the continued gamesmanship, repeated by Republicans, of baseline “cuts” that actually provide growth in federal outlays.

Not only the AP, which is to be expected, but the Republicans interviewed continue the liberal narrative that Republicans shut down the government last fall . . . Democrats just wanted what they wanted, but Republicans, they were stubborn and uncaring.
