Interesting caucus night from what we have been able to pick up from individuals corresponding with veritaspac. We are still gathering some insights from others and collecting our own thoughts. We will have more to say.
One encouraging item, that we hope will come to fruition, is the passage of a plank in many precincts related to insuring openness and fairness in the creation of the Scott County delegate Nominating Committee and proportional rules in presidential years. It passed unanimously in my own caucus, the largest Republican precinct in Davenport.
Had such rules been in existence for the 2012 caucus to convention process, much of the strife experienced in this state would have been prevented. Implementing the spirit of the resolution will prove wholly beneficial to Party unity going forward, because the result will be that everyone can have faith that the integrity of the caucus system will be honored.
