Will There Be A Primary Challenger to Roby Smith?

We will see soon, as the end of the day today is the filing deadline. We hope there will be a conservative challenger although we have not heard as such.  Smith and his handler Steve Grubbs of Victory Enterprises ran a despicable eleventh hour hit piece attack against incumbent David Hartsuch, M.D. four years ago.  Earlier today we established a page item “Shameful” to serve as a permanent reference regarding that political atrocity.  We refer you to it now.  R Mall

We can only hope so. If there is they better get ready to hit the streets and actually connect with potential constituents. Roby Smith may be a dorky looking out of touch fake Conservative, but one thing he isn’t is lazy. I saw him first hand knocking on doors that I suspect most “our people” wouldn’t even think think of going to. Actually I know they wouldn’t because they never did.

Fair point. Roby Smith is capable of energetically saying anything to all kinds of people.

Unless my recollection is faulty, Dr Hartsuch DID campaign vigorously and knocked on about every door in the area that had hinges in his first attempt. Agreed, it is that kind of energy it is going to take, but it was expended by Dave when he upset the reigning faux Republican whose name need not be mentioned.

That is certainly right and as a “first time” Republican he did nearly as well as incumbent state representative candidates running in his senate district. In 2008, running as a sacrifice candidate for congress, he did very well in his district compared to McCain. In 2010 any Republican would have won the district. It was the TEA Party year. Nobody worked harder than Hartsuch, both as a campaigner, legislator, debater and in service to constituents .
