Veritas Editor Succumbs to NYT Spin . . . Announces Facebook Friendship With Noam Chomsky

Recent events have apparently boggled our Illustrious Senior Editor, currently under observation at a local hospital, but who managed to file these dispatches:

Well now I feel better. The New York Times has cleared this whole thing up. Pvt/Sgt Bergdahl was probably the only good guy in a dysfunctional unit. A fierce fighter, sensitive humanitarian, Pvt/Sgt Bergdahl really had no choice but to leave before he became such a wretch as his fellow soldiers. One can deduce from the Times piece that maybe these former members of Bergdahl’s unit were just a bunch of undisciplined losers that they are the ones who should be court-martialed, not Pvt/Sgt Bergdahl who we now have confirmed, served with incredible honor and distinction. Also, it is once again confirmed that it was all Bush’s war strategy that caused this entire episode.

Clearly, those former members of Bowe’s platoon who spoke disparagingly of him and OUR DEAR LEADER should have known better. The next knock on the door they hear will be from the IRS.

Chomsky article doesn’t blame Bush once . . .

One of THE last guys I ever thought I would agree with…but, in this case, Me and Noam are on the same page. From a Daily Caller article today:

Chomsky: Obama ‘Determined To Demolish The Foundations Of Our Civil Liberties’

Progressive hero Noam Chomsky is terrified of the surveillance state that has developed during the tenure of President Barack Obama, calling it a grave threat to our fundamental civil liberties.

In a column published Monday, Chomsky writes that the documents revealed to the public by Edward Snowden show a system that is flagrantly violating the principles of the Constitution.s.

From the Chomsky article published Monday:

“The documents unveil a remarkable project to expose to state scrutiny vital information about every person who falls within the grasp of the colossus — in principle, every person linked to the modern electronic society,” . . .

“As the colossus fulfills its visions, in principle every keystroke might be sent to President Obama’s huge and expanding databases in Utah.” . . .

“In other ways too, the constitutional lawyer in the White House seems determined to demolish the foundations of our civil liberties. The principle of the presumption of innocence, which dates back to Magna Carta 800 years ago, has long been dismissed to oblivion.” . . .

“Throughout, the basic principle remains: Power must not be exposed to the sunlight. Edward Snowden has become the most wanted criminal in the world for failing to comprehend this essential maxim,”
