Illinois Voting Proposal — Iowa Not Much Better

We have to hand it to the  Argus -Dispatch today for their masthead editorial . . .

Vote Early and Vote Often

Those who contend vote fraud is a myth cooked up by angry Republicans are, well, whistling past the graveyard.

Of course one does not have to go too far out on a limb when addressing concerns about voter integrity in Illinois. According to the A-D:

Some suggest things like ghost voting by people who long ago took up residence in the neighborhood cemetery and vote-buying are far from relics of the past and they worry that a bill which appears to allow unchecked same-day voter registration will result in a voting fraud boom.

We share those concerns, . . .

It is a commendable editorial decrying a proposed change in Illinois election law, but the thing is Iowa’s voter registration laws do not require a photo voter ID either, not even for  election day registration,  nor does it require one to vote.

One Response to Illinois Voting Proposal — Iowa Not Much Better

  1. Andy Yawho says:

Illinois has been going down the slippery slope since the early 70’s. There is no morals left in the Illinois Democratic Party and the Republicans are not much better. The citizens of Illinois have permitted themselves to be capture by the Progressive arm of the Democratic Party, a.k.a. the American Communist Party. And unfortunately, they have been successful in exporting their members and doctrine to other states and Washington, D.C.
We need to eradicate this cancer by securing our borders with our military, shrinking government, getting the Federal Reserve out of the business of issuing money, get the able bodied off of welfare, among a host of other reforms.
Our religious leaders need to get out of meddling in governmental matters and start to preach the teachings of Jesus Christ in our churches and in the market place once again.
All God fearing citizens must shed the chains of ‘political correctness’ and begin to speak the truth in all matters as they really are. Only then will we be able to reclaim the freedoms that our Creator bestowed on us.
