Recall the dancing in the streets by conservatives with the announcement that, at last, the Supreme Court had ruled: Obama’s lawless presidency had been halted in its tracks. The Court in a unanimous, stinging rebuke to our Chief Executive had told the world that Mr. Obama had “exceeded his authority” in making “non-recess” recess appointments to the NLRB. News reports suggested that all of the Labor Board’s 400 or so rulings it had defiantly made throughout the 18 month period the issue was winding its way through the courts, were thus invalidated!

Wow! That’ll show that would be tyrant, many of us cheered. The rule of law prevails, the Republic survives!

Uh, well, not so fast freedom lovers.

Yesterday Fox News reported the following:

“The National Labor Relations Board has ratified a number of administrative and personnel actions taken by its board despite the Supreme Court ruling that some of its members were not constitutionally appointed at the time.

“The Supreme Court earlier this year invalidated three appointments made by President Obama to the NLRB in January 2012. The court said Obama exceeded his authority when he made the temporary appointments to the board during a brief Senate break.

“The NLRB said in a statement Monday that the board in July unanimously agreed to approve all administrative, personnel, and procurement decisions made from January 4, 2012 to August 5, 2013 — or from the time Obama’s appointments were made to the time the board regained a quorum of five members.”

So, put away the party hats.  The effectiveness of the Obama lawless governing strategy has been dramatically proven to be effective.

A 9-0 Supreme Court decision in favor of the rule of law turns out to be perhaps the most hollow victory this nation has ever seen.

The Obama dominating theory of governing, not too unlike that of every dictator of the 20th century: defy the law, ignore the Constitution, delay through litigation and stonewalling, all attempts to stop or reverse or stay, until enough time has passed and so much has been implemented that any reversal would be chaotic…all abetted by a corrupted press, an ignorant electorate and an embarassingly timid opposition party.
