The Grudge Indictment of Rick Perry

A thorough yet succinct overview of the ridiculous ludicrous indictment by a Travis County (Austin) Grand Jury  of Texas Governor Rick Perry is available in this Wall Street Journal editorial from three days ago.  Additional articles are available today at RedState including this one indicting certain liberal Republicans for helping Democrats set the stage for the anti-Perry smear.

If you are a liberal and don’t like Perry, but have some integrity, you can get succor from this article at Breitbart: Perry Indictment Is ‘B.S.’, ‘Unbelievably Ridiculous’, ‘Beyond the Pale’, ‘Dangerous’ Say… More Liberals?

If you are a Republican who does not like Perry, this Washington Examiner article might be up yours: (Some) Tea Partiers reluctant to laud Rick Perry*

Obama Foreign Policy Meltdown

With a couple of exceptions this Commentary article by Bret Stephens is a brilliant, detailed, accurate assessment of what we have in and from the White House. While the writer closes with the obligatory semi-optimistic observation (and I emphasize “semi”), the picture he presents is quite bleak.  The following excerpt is the introduction the entire worthy article is available here.

In July, after Germany trounced Brazil 7–1 in the semifinal match of the World Cup—including a first-half stretch in which the Brazilian soccer squad gave up an astonishing five goals in 19 minutes—a sports commentator wrote: “This was not a team losing. It was a dream dying.” These words could equally describe what has become of Barack Obama’s foreign policy since his second inauguration. The president, according to the infatuated view of his political aides and media flatterers, was supposed to be playing o jogo bonito, the beautiful game—ending wars, pressing resets, pursuing pivots, and restoring America’s good name abroad.

Instead, he crumbled.

As I write, the foreign policy of the United States is in a state of unprecedented disarray. In some cases, failed policy has given way to an absence of policy. So it is in Libya, Syria, Egypt, Iraq, and, at least until recently, Ukraine. In other cases the president has doubled down on failed policy—extending nuclear negotiations with Iran; announcing the full withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan.

Green Not Good for Birds — The Perfect (Solar Panel) Storm

It seems that when birds are not being fricasseed by wind turbines they may be felled by the scorching heat from solar panels. Reports indicate that the proliferation of huge expanses of solar panels create the perfect anti-aviary solar storm — the panels kill some birds from the heat, bugs are attracted to their carcases, the presence of bugs attracts more birds, more birds become subject to the scorching heat.

Read more about how Solar Plants are Scorching, Killing Birds in Mid-Air in the Free Beacon. Thanks to SF for bringing it to our attention. We expect members of the Audubon Society will be hurling themselves from the wind turbines onto the solar panels in order to save the birds.  We wish them well.

Patriot Post – Worthy Ferguson Essay by Mark Alexander

The article does not progress to clearly close the loop suggested by the title:  The Real Tragedy in Ferguson — and Across the Nation Unintended Consequences of “The Great Society”  However it makes very many points that justify that conclusion even if the theme and continuity could be drawn together better.

O’Reilly Talking Points Memo on Ferguson

Extorting Racial Division in Missouri     The Fox News talk show host manages to irritate us as often as not lately but his Talking Points Memo today, August 20, effectively goes after the race hustlers that have planted themselves in Ferguson in search of a camera and microphone. He refers to Al Sharpton numerous times and pulls no punches.

The interview with Bernard Goldberg later in the program,  makes a number of effective points regarding the black community’s misplaced sense of justice. Among the points Goldberg makes — would there be a race riot if the shooter of Michael Brown had been a black policeman? Would the shooting be more or less justified?  Have any of the race hustlers down there been confronted with the question and what it leads to – the necessity not to prejudge but to let justice prevail.  We may expand on Goldberg’s well made points as a transcript becomes available.

* Ed Note: – While included for perspective we find more in the article to support appreciation for Perry on key matters.  There is not a governor around we would not encourage to make more use of their veto pen on spending matters. Update: This article will serve to put to rest another scandal mongering matter from Democrats about Perry.
