And by the way, Barry, its Mr. Steven Sotloff to you
This morning, I watched as much of his speech in Estonia as I could stand. It was the absolute dullest, dumbest, silliest piece of crap I believe Obama has delivered yet (and that’s saying something). It was something like this, “Estonia has shown what freedom loving ‘folks’ can accomplish”. He then detailed how they showed great courage when they were conquered time and again by the Nazis, the Soviet Union, blah, blah. Now they’re free. As though, by being victimized over and over they showed they could overcome…I think. Whatever his message was, it came out, to me, if ‘folks’ do nothing, it’ll all work out. Oh yeah, several generations might be murdered and dominated and subjugated, but in the long run, it’ll all work out good (of course, “in the long run, we’re all dead”, as it’s said).
Jane Harman (MSNBC) said the speech was a “whopper”. She meant it was wonderful. I thought it was a whopper too, but not the way she did. UGGHHH!
Reading The Hill report on the speech we find this Obama quote “Whatever these murderers think they’ll achieve by killing innocent Americans like Steven, they have already failed,” Obama said, pledging an international effort against the “the kind of barbaric and empty vision that [ISIS] represents.”
Barbaric, to be sure , . . . but empty? ISIS is intent on establishing a caliphate. It is offensive, but it is not “empty” or purposeless. Just another indication that the President and his immediate coterie do not really know what the world is up against.
Which Rand Paul is this?
From the Daily Caller: Rand Paul: Time To ‘Destroy ISIS Militarily’
So Hamas OK; ISIS not?
With Rand it is getting harder to know which is the position and which is the walk-back.
Cantor looking more like a parlor singer from a whorehouse
Former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (most recently) and previously former Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, have abandoned their man of the people gigs and left the states that trusted in them to clean up the ways of Washington to pursue, well, the ways of Washington. Read Erick Erickson of RedState’s “take” titled, The American Aristocracy.
They are prime Republican personages capitalizing on Washington’s insider and influence peddling ways . . . the sort of thing that makes winning over the hearts and minds of the cynical no party types, imbued with the attitude “Republicans and Democrats are all alike,” and the blue collar attitude of “Republicans are in it for themselves” well, more difficult.
