The Politics of “Charity” and Immigration Hustlers

To hear the bleatings of liberal “social justice” religious leaders, for all practical purposes allied with open border advocates and the Democrat Party, those Americans who resist talk of legal status for illegal immigrants until our border is secured are motivated by selfishness, xenophobia and are unChristian.

For the record, we support turning border rushers around in a humane way.  They can apply for legal immigration status like so many others who are in just as desperate or worse situations but are playing by the rules. In the mean time, prospective immigrants first obligation is to be part of the solution correcting the problems in their home countries as best they can.

In their support of what amounts to open borders the church affiliated immigration hustlers  are oblivious to anything that relates to paying for the welfare burdens their advocacy imposes. To use one of their favorite terms – their views are “unsustainable.”

Further, we humbly suggest, their accusations against conservatives are arguably projections of their own self-serving, irresponsible, partial, indulgent with other peoples money, and unBiblical faults.

But the problem is they have the(bully) pulpit and skew or withhold information and neither they or their fellow travelers  answer basic questions about costs, implications or conflicts of interest.

Follow the money and power trail

The video below (use link) is an exposition of the conflicts of interest of major religious organizations in their agitation for the imposition of great costs on taxpayers to finance their “Christian charity.”

World Net Daily August edition of its feature magazine whistleblower is devoted to the subject of immigration titled: Unconventional Warfare, Children are the latest Pawns in Obama’s Transformation of America.

Both are thorough expositions of the cross-currents, implications and motivations of the religious left.  It is entirely legitimate to call into question the authenticity of the religious left’s champions of social justice wrap themselves in a cloak of charity implying self sacrifice when it is paid for with tax dollars, n expropriation by definition, which goes in good measure to pay salaries to them for their “charitable” works and to sustain or expand their domains.  Private religious agencies managing and dispersing government funds can be superior to  government bureaucracies. Just don’t confuse the paid apparat or the programs primarily funded with tax dollars with philanthropy or even religious charity.

More reading on the subject of  Biblical precepts and immigration are available in the links we provided at the end of this post.  On the general subject of poverty and Christian Biblical precepts we have found this recently published work from the Institute of Faith, Work & Economics authentic and instructive: For the Least of These — A Biblical Answer to Poverty.
