Oh! the Humanity!

“You behead one of ours, we force feed two of yours.”  It’s the Chicago Way  (and the food will not be gluten-free!).

Jihad John must be thinking, “why didn’t I think of that?”

Here’s an excerpt of the MSNBC story on federal judge Gladys Kessler’s decision to release tapes of those awful goings on at GITMO, the force feeding of a Syrian detainee who was part of a hunger strike at THE prison a little over a year ago (link to the full story below).

Judge orders release of Guantanamo force-feeding videos
By Meredith Clark

The world will soon be able to see the truth about the force-feedings at the prison at Guantanamo Bay, after a federal judge on Friday ordered the U.S. government to release videotapes of one prisoner being subjected to the process.

The 28 tapes show U.S. military personnel force-feeding Abu Wa’el Dhiab, a Syrian detainee who was a part of the hunger strike that began in March of last year and grew to include 106 men at its height, with 46 of them fed through the intrusive “enteral feeding” process.  . . .

In her decision, Judge Gladys Kessler said, “I want Americans to see what is going on at the prison today, so they will understand why we are hunger-striking, and why the prison should be closed. If the American people stand for freedom, they should watch these tapes. If they truly believe in human rights, they need to see these tapes.”

According to Wikipedia:

“On October 10, 2007, the Washington Post headlined “Judge Orders U.S. Not to Transfer Tunisian Detainee,” and reported that Judge Kessler “ruled last week that Mohammed Abdul Rahman cannot be sent [from Guantanamo] to Tunisia because he could suffer ‘irreparable harm.”  The detainee’s lawyer said, “The executive has now been told it cannot bury its Guantanamo mistakes in Third World prisons.” He also stated that, “This is the first time the judicial branch has exercised its inherent power to control the excesses of the executive as to treatment of prisoners at Guantanamo Bay.”

Note: Judge Kessler was appointed to the federal bench by former President Bill Clinton.

Yessir, according to Judge Kessler “the world will soon be able to see the truth…why the prison should be closed…”, she said. (Apparently Judge Gladys was so moved by all this that, at least according to the quotes MSNBC attributes to her, she was on the hunger strike herself.  “In her decision…Kessler said,…’I want Americans to… understand why we are hunger-striking’…”).

Maybe, after Judge Gladys orders Gitmo officials to cease referring to them as “detainees” but rather as “guests” (to show some respect, wouldn’t you think), she will also order the full videotapes of the ISIS beheadings so that “Americans” can compare the incomparable cruelty of our military to the kindness of the Islamist jihadists.

How about that, Gladys?       DLH

As Jen Psaki (State Dept. Spokesdope) would say: “They bring a gun, we bring a feeding tube”.
