Too Much Time on Tread Mill Produces Whimsy

images-12There’s a lot of good news in today’s events…if you know where to look for it.

Perhaps the best place to get your daily dose of good news is at the White House and its avid fans in the media. Here’s a few highlights of Wednesday’s cheerful reports:

– A second confirmed case of Ebola among health care workers at the Dallas hospital where the late Thomas Duncan was treated has been reported. That might at first be considered bad news; however, the good news is that the “monitoring” procedures the CDC and the hospital have put in place are working…really well. Some of the other “procedures” to deal with this disease government has put in place, not so much.

– Nevertheless, more good news. Recall that our President has assured us, more than once, that is is very nearly impossible to contract this disease, short of sharing a joint. In fact, it is my understanding, limited though it may be, that one is more likely to be trampled to death by a herd of unicorns…or for Chuck Hagel to have an original thought…or for Nancy Pelosi to utter something coherent…or for President Obama to be caught telling the truth…or Harry Reid winning the Senate’s “Mr. Congeniality” award…or for John Kerry to further extend his string of diplomatic triumphs…or, well, you know, really difficult.

– More good news! In his daily briefing Tuesday, Earnest Josh, er, Josh Earnest, assured anxious Americans that, yes indeed, President Obama’s “ISIL” strategy is working! Despite the imminent capture by ISIS of a major airport in Iraq, Earnest Josh noted that we are “winning”! A lot like the CDC is winning the war on Ebola.

– Speaking of Ebola and the Obama “non-war” war strategy: The World Health Organization (WHO?) has opined that the number of Ebola victims  is likely to increase “exponentially” in the weeks and months ahead. The good news is that the number of nations joining Obama’s “coalition” to fight ISIS is increasing even faster. Yesterday, Earnest Josh reported that the number of nations “participating” in the “coalition” is up to 60! By next week, Earnest Josh expects the number of coalition partners to exceed the number of nations on the planet.          DLH
