CUE THE MUSIC . . .

It’s SA A TURDAY MORNING LIVE!!!!…and there’s a ton of good news out there, folks.

First, the House “Intelligence” Committee has issued its report on the 2012 “terrorist”, er, protest demonstrations, in Benghazi. For those NPR listeners who may have heard about that event, it turns out that, according to what seems to be the report’s conclusions, the House “Intelligence” committee found  that it was, indeed, another phony scandal, probably contrived by racist Teabaggers who don’t like a black man in the White House.

The “unofficial” title of the official report, authored by retiring GOP committee chairman, Mike Rogers, and Democrat “Butch” Ruppersberger, is rumored to be “What Difference At This Point Does It Make?”. According to a Wall Street Journal story, the Committee “… did not find that Obama administration officials attempted to mislead the public”.

(Reaction to the report from Democrats was immediate. A statement from the office of Iowa’s erstwhile Senate candidate, Bruce Bailey, dismissed recent statements by former Navy Seals and Army Special Operators who defended the US consulate during the attack. Barley said that it was obvious that they were probably just farmers in civilian life and likely that not one of them had a law degree.)

Moderate Republicans, it is rumored, breathed a sigh of relief. In Establishment GOP circles it was feared that if the report had appeared to be critical of Democrats, and President Obama and former Sec. of State Hillary Clinton in particular, many voters would be sorely disappointed with Republicans and never vote for them again.

It is also rumored and vehemently denied, that Chairman Rogers, once regarded as a strong advocate for the military and a fearless conservative, had signed on for a gig on MSNBC following his retirement from congress this year. It was said that he will team with Mika Brrrzzzzavonakowski, or whatever, and Joe Scarborough on a late night news show titled “What’s the  (Dem) Party Line Tonite? ”

Free Republic

GOP Charts Course Against Immigrant Move, was the headline of news stories concerning how Republicans in Congress will respond to President Obama’s  Executive action which gave amnesty to as many as 5 million illegal immigrants.

The WSJ reports that “House Republican leaders balanced competing demands Friday as they sought to convey the party’s anger over President Obama’s immigration changes without letting that ire spiral into a government shutdown.”

The story said that Speaker Boehner “struck a defiant tone”. He “pledged Republicans would challenge the president’s action. “We will not stand idle as…(Obama)… undermines the rule of law in our country and places lives at risk.” Other establishment Republicans reportedly were taken aback by Obama’s action. One said. “Who could’a seen that coming?”

Speaker Boehner and the Congress then left Washington for the Thanksgiving “recess”.

Meanwhile, it isn’t clear if Republicans will bring an immigration overhaul to the House floor , but they are “considering’ an array of options to push back on the Executive Order.

That “array of options” will not include a “repeat of last fall’s partial government shutdown”,GOP leaders emphasized, according to the Journal story.

Veritas was unable to confirm but rumors are that Boehner prefers a 30 day pout by House Republicans, during which members would refuse to say “good morning” to any Democrat and would start Congressional proceedings each day by holding their breath for one minute.

There are some in the caucus, however, who feel that that may be too harsh a measure.

Other actions GOP members of both Senate and House are considering include holding their ears  during Obama’s State of the Union address and murmuring in unison, “I can’t hear you”.

Lindsey Graham, we’ve heard, while he will vote for every one of Obama’s appointments, said he intends to “only damn with faint praise”,  including the president’s nominee for Attorney General.

Veritas has also been told that Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts was overheard opining about Obama’s executive order. It’s reported that Roberts said, “Sounds like a tax to me”.                       DLH

This article NAILS the Repubs……holding their breath and/or pouting for thirty days. Dear , God in Heaven, we keep hearing that we need Boehner, et al in leadership positions because of their ‘experience with dealing with Congress”. Give us some younger people who aren’t such toadies and will take the fight TO the Dems.
