And it’s one – two – three . . .

what are we fighting for . . .  some percentage of readers will remember the lyrics from Country Joe McDonald’s Vietnam War protest anthem.

We would ask the same question of Republican leadership,  only to the lyric —  what are they fighting for? We know what we are fighting for.

As suggested by Rush Limbaugh in Friday’s show, repeated by Mark Steyn today as substitute host on his program, Republicans elected to Congress had mandates after the 2010 and 2014 mid-term elections, to stop Obama’s excesses, particularly Obamacare and to control the border and not give in to amnesty.  Obamacare and Obamnesty continue.  Obama’s border policies represent not a sieve, as that would have more restraint, nor are they even a stop light, they are an invitation to illegal immigration. Further, scandal after scandal in domestic and foreign policy are met with . . . hearings.

Americans with the authority of experts and their own votes told Republican leadership of the horrible implications of the government take-over of health care. The Republican nominees agreed in their campaigns for election and reelection. Indeed Republicans voted against it . . .  when they had no power to stop it.  But since 2011 they have had the power to stop it and they are funding it.

The harm is not now merely theoretical, the warnings have now come to reality in the form of bureaucratic bungling, in increased costs,  in access to doctors, and most profoundly in assaults on medical ethics and personal freedoms. And the majority of Republicans in the Congress just voted to inculcate the Obamanation’s policies further.

We would add that the 2008 and 2012 elections were Republican establishment’s to lose, and they did. Their candidates lost because they did not fight. So what are we fighting for   . . .  for those who do not fight . . . who fight with so little spirit   . . . who have no intention of seriously fighting?

Mark Levine one inch away  via The Right Scoop  (use link to access their site and Levin’s full commentary).

Mark Levin ripped Republicans a new one tonight as he opened his show tonight, saying that he is one inch away from leaving the Republican Party.

He starts in hard, asking Republicans if they think this is a joke, if they think they can just lie to Republicans and conservatives with impunity about defunding Obamacare and fighting Obama’s illegal amnesty.

He points out that Republicans go on and on about an imperial president and his illegal amnesty and they can’t even vote on a point of order challenging Obama.

Levin says the Constitution is in tatters and that the Republican Party doesn’t even realize they’ve ceded their power to Obama.

  1. Gus says:

For his effort to at least get Republicans on the record opposing Obama’s unconstitutional actions, Sen. Cruz was savaged by Krauthammer on Fox this evening with more ferocity than he ever attacks any Democrat. We can look forward to the GOP establishment and many self-proclaimed conservatives relentlessly “Palinizing” Cruz for the next two years. Remember, voters turned out last month to shellac Democrats and Obama’s policies because they wanted lots of “bi-partnership” and “compromise”.
    Yeah, right.
