Draft Steve King to Replace Boehner

We would be very supportive if Iowa’s own Steve King would run for Speaker of the House, perhaps with Trey Gowdy in Kevin McCarthy’s roll of number two.  Or vice versa! Thirty Republican votes should be garnered as suggested by Erick Erickson whose comments were raised in our previous post.  Rep. John Boehner should be forced to the sidelines.  That is Boehner’s intention for much of the conservative agenda and for any effective response to stopping Obama’s executive order agenda.  I am not sure Boehner can be trusted in promising concessions to conservatives in order to retain his Speaker position.  He will probably insist on winning by brute force anyway –  willing to use power in such circumstances but not against Obama.

Steve King’s Congressional Website does not provide for e-mail contact from zip codes outside his district.  There does seem to be a simple way around the e-mail filter.  Substitute an in-district zip code such as 51201 / 51031 / 51101 / 51012 / 51355 (or others) while still using your actual name, address, phone and e-mail. It worked for me. This is a direct link to King’s contact form.

Here is the message I sent just now. Consider using it or your own:

Dear Congressman King: Please support an effective change for Speaker of the House. I have no doubt you  would be such an effective Speaker.

In the current circumstances not only is the conservative agenda of smaller government at risk but also the Constitution if President Obama’s assaults are not stopped. Dedicated leadership in the House is crucial to stopping Obama’s agenda. I have lost confidence in Speaker Boehner. I ask you to help lead the resurgence of America called for in the November election. Please challenge Representative Boehner for the Speaker position or support another conservative like yourself in such an effort.   Sincerely,

R Mall

Now what would cause you to have such doubt? I’d probably trust Steny Hoyer to be more trustworthy in making such promises than “The Boner”.
