Sarah Palin’s timely, and all too true, quip about Republican leadership — from an interview with the Blaze via Fox News:
Palin On GOP: ‘It’s Not Just The New England Patriots Who Are Dealing With Deflated Balls’
Truth Revolt
“I’m not going to talk politics except to say the GOP had better go on offense,” Palin told TheBlaze Thursday. “Man, they are not going to win any game on defense. Being in the majority there in D.C. — we’re blowing it if we just bend our back.”
“That GOP leadership, that establishment, they’ve got to get their stuff together,” she added. “I love what they believe in, I believe in it too. But they’ve got to get tough, man. You know what? It’s not just the New England Patriots who are dealing with deflated balls right now.”
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell practically claims eunuch status when it comes to fighting the Obama agenda even with a majority in the House and Senate, an election mandate, and the Constitutional power of the purse. However he reserves his testosterone for rising to the challenge of conservatives intent on seeing the Republican Party fulfill its promises to stop Obamacare, secure the border, oppose amnesty and protect against all manner of Obama’s assaults on the Constitution and the culture.
The Senate Conservative Fund, founded by former Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) who now heads the Heritage Foundation, issued the following message describing what McConnell is up to:
Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has a new super PAC that will be used to attack conservative candidates who challenge liberal GOP incumbents.
The new PAC is cleverly named the Senate Leadership Fund. Sound familiar?
The name choice is not a mistake. McConnell’s allies know that conservative donors may confuse this new PAC with the Senate Conservatives Fund.
Don’t be fooled.
There’s nothing conservative about this new PAC and it certainly won’t promote leadership unless you consider constant capitulation leadership.
Senator McConnell has vowed to “crush” conservatives “everywhere” and recently predicted that he will win every primary in 2016.
The Senate Leadership Fund is a “scam PAC” that should be rejected by anyone who wants the Senate to fight for conservative principles.
HO– — USE ABANDONS PRO-LIFE BILL
A very sad thing happened in the House of Representatives this week.
The new Republican Congress, under pressure from liberal interests, abandoned a bill to protect innocent unborn children from abortion after twenty weeks of pregnancy when they can feel pain.
House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) and his leadership team were so worried about being called anti-women that they gave up on a pro-life bill that is supported by 60% of Americans.
This is exactly why so many conservatives in this country are fed up with the GOP establishment in Washington. They surrender on every major issue because they’re afraid of being criticized by liberals. They have no backbone.
This event was, however, instructive for the pro-life movement, which has a record of overlooking the serious failings of the Republican Party simply because it claims to be committed to traditional values.
This week, pro-lifers saw the GOP leadership’s true colors. *
It was a pathetic performance by Speaker Boehner who has displayed similar propensities as McConnell as to how he plays the game. The lack of organization he showed earlier this week on the late-term abortion bill would not have happened on issues key to the Republican crony capitalist donor class. Thanks to VM for the timely forwards regarding these matters. R Mall
* There is still hope that the House will pass a late-term abortion bill, but on the heels of the Speaker election, where many reports indicated Boehner left no Congressman unturned to keep his Speaker position, the debacle this week has shown where Boehner’s arm twisting skills are concentrated.
PALIN? OH, WOW…SHE STILL IS POPULAR, AMAZING. THE HALF-GOVERNOR PRONE TO RACIST REMARKS AND WHO WAS KNOWN FOR TELLING THE McCAIN CAMPAIGN PEOPLE THAT AFRICA IS A COUNTRY. YEAH, LET’S HANG ON HER EVERY WORD.
