Rudy speaks “truth to power”; Megyn Kelly puts on her MSNBC pants
I did happen to see this interview with Megyn Kelly. I thought she was unnecessarily snippy and belligerent, but that’s often her style. She was in her best “fair and balanced” mode and she made some fair points but despite Mediaite’s glee over her “handling” of Giuliani, she did not score its desired “knockout” . Rudy made his case and made it well. There’s no one hour show that could cover all of the many examples which clearly prove Barack Obama’s utter contempt for America, its people, and the respect and envy it has had from the rest of the world.
In this piece at National Review Rudy Is Right, Kevin Williamson lists some major examples but by no means all. The ways in which Obama has exhibited his contempt ranges from the small and petty, like giving the finger to political opponents subtly and with sufficient ambiguity to permit “deniability”, to very major actions which ignore Constitutional restraints which every president has observed or at least been constrained by.
It is laughable to the average , reasonably informed American that there are calls for a “comprehensive” immigration policy because the current legal constructs “are broken”. Who cannot objectively conclude that the current system is “broken” because the law has been and is being ignored, defied, and broken every day and in almost every way by this president. (Note: G.W. Bush, was not a strict conservator of immigration law, himself.) Who could plausibly argue that Barack Obama would not, with impudence, ignore any parts of a new “comprehensive” law which he didn’t like?
What is truly mysterious, in a way, and undeniably obvious, in another way, is that Obama’s contempt for this country and the lawlessness he gets away with, is possible only with the full support of the press, the institution which was protected and nurtured by the Constitution to prevent a willful man like Barack Obama to “fundamentally transform” the greatest nation in the history of the world.
On a personal note, I supported many of the actions taken in the aftermath of 9/11, particularly enactment of the Patriot Act. The abuses, however, that legislation could enable and abet I saw as very concerning. While George Bush is light years a better and more moral man than Barack Obama, and unlike Obama, does love this nation, any person in control of the awesome power of a massive federal government, must be subject to some means by which to check dangerous impulses which tempt any president.
I was comforted that our free press would not permit President Bush to succumb to and attempt to carry out any such dangerous impulses.
And it did…even when the most serious of such impulses did not emerge. The press constrained Mr. Bush to a fault. After all, he was a Republican president!
Now, I see, my fears were not misplaced. The institution which was to safeguard the freedoms and the moral underpinnings of this great nation has failed its mission…spectacularly! It is a corrupt institution itself, corrupted by four generations of liberal/socialist indoctrination by the American educational system.The overwhelming majority of the press in this country has made Barack Obama the envy of every dictator and despot in the world. For most of them, , it took time and drastic and brutal measures to bring the press under their control. For Obama, the press allowed itself to be under his control even before he came to power. (How about that, Hugo, Fidel, Vlad?)
God help America over the next 24 months! And Rudy, you’ve sunk one “from downtown” (a little “hoops” language)!
