Biden’s Butt Buddies
Tell me now…is there a “progressive” out there who would be willing to objectively evaluate the better candidate for Vice President back in those heady days of the 2008 election campaign?
In terms of maturity, honesty, values: “Uncle” Joe Biden or Sarah Palin? Be honest Democrats, is Biden still your “Butt Buddy”?
I believe it is not an exaggeration to suggest that our current Vice President is a worldwide embarrassment. Interesting to me that Saturday Night Live just couldn’t bring itself to find any “joke” possibilities in the Democratic candidate while Tina Fey has dined out for 7 years over her distortion of Sarah Palin’s words and record.
Maybe SNL just couldn’t find a liberal actor willing to play the part of a genuine Democrat buffoon, week after week.
ISIS knows how far they can go . . .
. . . before they lose global public opinion. Sure, they’ve gotten some criticism from world leaders, including our own president, for a bunch of beheadings, a handful of immolations, scores of executions of captured prisoners, and, yes, even the kidnappings of children, selling some into slavery, burying alive others, subjecting many more to rape, and various forms of torture.
But ISIS leaders know the “red line” they dare not cross. There is no evidence whatsoever that they have even considered, much dared to subject any of their enemies to WATERBOARDING. They know it is our president’s “tipping point”.
It’s “not who they are”!
Pope Francis: “Don’t cry for me, Argentina”, part 2
Pope Francis is hailed worldwide, not only for his great “humbleness”, but for his concern for the “poor” and his criticism of capitalism and the “materialistic” impulses and greed of advanced nations. His Holiness even places “climate change” near, if not at the top, of his agenda.
Meanwhile his native country is an unqualified mess. As far from a capitalist economy as possible, the system which Pope Francis seems to abhor, Argentina is mired in poverty and near collapse. The “poor”, as they always have in that forlorn country, are suffering the most. In recent months, overwhelming evidence indicates massive corruption in the government (nothing new in that nation), including apparent murder of the country’s chief prosecutor who had been on the verge of bringing formal charges against Argentina’s president, Ms. Kirchner.
We can excuse Pope Francis for not speaking out about this catastrophe, as he seems wont to do regarding all the other evils he sees in the world, I suppose. Right now he’s busy putting the finishing touches on his climate change encyclical, which will undoubtedly endorse the UN’s and our own President Obama’s wealth redistribution agenda.
Viva il Papa!
