• Certainly there are rivals for the honor, Lindsey Graham comes to mind
• Immigration, global warming, Obamacare in the trade bill?
• “hogwash!”, cried the Wall Street Journal.
• “you can’t believe everything you see on the internet”, cautioned Paul Ryan
How silly to think that the Trans Pacific Partnership bill pending in the House would possibly advance Obama’s agenda on immigration. Why it’s obvious that it does not . . . just read the bill!. Oops! Can’t do that until we pass it, noted Paul Ryan, echoing the deeply intellectual former House Speaker, Nancy Whatshername.
Well, actually, there is strong evidence to the contrary Paul. Not that we think you’d lie to us, but maybe you haven’t read the bill for comprehension yourself.
And the WSJ? When it comes to immigration, a straight story on any aspect of that issue, the Journal’s editorial page is the last place to look. Their agenda regarding immigration is indistinguishable from Obama’s, the US Chamber of Commerce, the Tech industry and its billionaires who support Obama.
In an editorial Thursday, the Journal wrote: “A big free-trade vote is headed for the House floor as soon as Friday, and opponents have launched a honeypot operation to ply the dumber or more partisan Republicans into defeating the bill. Protectionists on the right claim that President Obama can’t be trusted (now where would anybody get that crazy idea?), and their last gasps to claim the bill includes secret new immigration powers that are nowhere in the bill.”
Being one of the “dumber” folks, we even believe the free-trade package the Journal is all hot for will advance Obama’s “climate change” agenda . . . he said it himself. True, we don’t trust him but he will occasionally let his leftist friends in on what he is going to do in order to garner their support.
That Obama would do such a thing was unanticipated by Mr Ryan as he rushed to file an amendment to legislation to “ensure that trade agreements do not require changes to U.S. law or obligate the United States with respect to global warming or climate change.” So a climate change agenda is part of Obama’s intentions with TPP, long denied or said to be irrelevant by the likes of Ryan. Of course if that is the substance of it, Ryan’s amendment does not keep Obama from his executive order overreaches on such matters. He need only say he is doing so independently. Nor does Ryan’s amendment stop the imposition of economically harmful and ineffective environmental requirements on other countries.
The glib way Paul Ryan is trying to sell Obama’s favored trade bill is enough for me to be convinced this guy is nothing more than a con artist. On Greta (FoxNews) Tuesday evening he tried to convince viewers that the reason Obama was willing to accede to the terms of the bill is “because Republicans are in charge of Congress”.
Anymore need to be said? The GOP is flexing its muscles and Obama is surrendering!
Wow! I wonder why the GOP hasn’t “flexed its muscles” on Obama’s unconstitutional actions on illegal immigration, EPA regs, the wide variety of unilateral actions in violation of the separation of powers, etc., etc., etc.
Ask Paul Ryan.
