About our supposed moralizing and out pope-ing the Pope

A confluence of momentous essentially political events  . . .a lofty but seriously error ridden  papal encyclical imbued with a Marxist worldview dangerous in its advocacy of world government,  two lawless Supreme Court decisions and Congressional abdication and malfeasance cause us to record the last few days as among the darkest in U.S. history.  Ted Cruz made a similar observation regarding just the Supreme Court’s Obamacare and marriage decisions. The prospects of nuclear weapons in the hands of the Islamic jehadic state of Iran portends conflagration due to Obama’s incompetent at best foreign policy.  And in all this we are still hopeful because of the power of conservatism’s truths or at least the need to fight the good political fight!  Otherwise we would be concentrating on doomsday preparations!

The political  debate over all of these issues is primarily moral, certainly the moral is inseparable. Consider how liberals / collectivists love to wrap themselves in a cloak of being morally superior as regards “saving the planet,” improving the lot of the poor,  even same-sex marriage. Certainly their derogation of conservative opposition to their designs as wanton destruction of the planet, anti-poor and bigoted is morally accusative.  The truth is that social issues drive fiscal issues and their costs. America’s culturally conservative freedom inspired ways are consistent with Christianity and better for humankind and the planet.

Nevertheless Republican leadership is easily cowed by liberal browbeating. Our efforts  here at veritaspac.com are to defeat liberalism and part of that involves calling the Republican Party to task and to help it by highlighting appropriate arguments we come across. To the extent that current Republican leadership is incompetent or part of the problem we advocate their replacement. With time so critical, if the proverbial brick wall presents itself we will advocate for conservative principles in another political structure.

The recognition of the moral underpinnings of the problems we face and the screwed up arguments and policies of liberals is essential to defeating them. We do so without presumption of our infallibility but confidence in the judgement of generations and what we glean from our analytical betters.  We do so within our limited field of influence and with we hope effective doses of humor and ridicule backed by seriousness of purpose.  We claim no moral superiority for ourselves but we will defend what we see as the superiority of political, economic and cultural conservatism as regards our earthly presence and the the human condition.  We will concede no moral or practical ground to liberalism.
