Powerline has been on this story all along. For anyone who has followed their reporting and is not completely exhausted by the almost daily disclosures of the Obama administration’s other acts of lawlessness, incompetence, and defiance of the rule of law, this account could be the most chilling of all. It also raises legitimate and fearful questions about who Obama really is and what are his deep down aims.
Forget the unbelievably numerous instances of obstruction of justice across virtually every department and function of the Obama administration. The destruction of evidence under subpoena would be breathtaking if there weren’t so many other instances of wrongdoing, incompetence, arrogant disdain for the American people and even for his greatest enablers, the media. The White House is hip deep in “smidgens” of proof of deception, obstruction, and criminal behavior, but the rate of illegal,unconstitutional damage to the nation’s security, economy, reputation, and freedom is actually accelerating.
But what is going on in Vienna and what the Obama administration is intent on doing may well determine the very existence of the entire world as we know it now.
The effort by Obama to actually ensure that Iran gets nuclear weapons could hardly be more obvious. The earliest indication that the Vienna “negotiations” would not represent a serious effort to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear bomb was Obama’s appointment of John Kerry to lead the talks. A serious person would no more give someone of Kerry’s known dislike for America and whose arrogance is almost comical, such great responsibility than you’d give Jeh Johnson responsibility for Homeland Security, or Al Sharpton the assignment of top liaison on race relations.
The capitulation to Iran on virtually every key element of a potential agreement is breathtaking…almost as much as the Republican-dominated Senate’s nullification of constitutional provisions governing treaties, which could have been the barrier to the completion of this devastatingly bad deal.
But the big why is with Obama himself! Why give in to the demands of one of, if not the, bitterest enemies of America? At the same time betraying America’s strongest allies in the region and virtually assuring, in the view of most experts, a nuclear arms race in the most volatile part of the world likely leading to the unthinkable…a nuclear holocaust!
Americans need to think very deeply about their president, what he stands for, who exactly he serves, where he intends to take this nation before he leaves the Oval Office.
Many of the answers have been provided if only the media, the political class on both sides of the aisle, and influential figures from all sectors of the society had the will, the courage, and the independence to call them out.
In the mean time:
Army plans to cut 40,000 troops
Wonder if a proportionate percentage of the alleged 15,000 military transgenders will be cut. And, if so, will it be before the DOD pays for their “surgery”, or whatever?
