True but embarrassing
Let’s count the many tidbits from the “Rock Star Pope” which will make his jaunt through Latin America this week so memorable, via the London Telegraph:
– calls “unfettered” capitalism “Satan’s Sh-t”…Oh wait ! That wasn’t exactly what he said. He used the calming, conciliatory words of Holy Mother Church. The humble, kindly Pontiff called it “the dung of the devil”…a trademark of His Humbleness, the clever turn of a phrase.
– adopted the “apology shtick’ of his buddy, Barack Obama, as he “begged forgiveness” for “crimes” committed by the Catholic church during ‘colonial conquests”. He stressed how “humbly” he was asking forgiveness, not only for the offenses of the church herself, but also for crimes committed against the native peoples during the so-called conquest of America. And, ever the crowd pleaser, Francis’ apologies for the wickedness of all those “other” unfettered folks, brought down the house, greeted with thunderous applause. And, though it was the same approach and words which could have been prepared, if they weren’t, by an Obama speech writer, Francis said it all without a teleprompter! Viva Il Papa!
– He was greeted by the oppressive Marxist president/ dictator of Bolivia, Evo Morales, who was wearing his favorite bowling shirt proudly displaying Che Guevara image. From the genial grin as he was greeted by Morales, the Vicar of Christ appears to have approved.
– While two photos of Pope Francis on his trip appeared in the Wall Street journal…one showing off his stylish sombrero, neither showed him accepting from the Bolivian leader (“in Bolivia, the gringoes no longer rule, the indians do”) the wooden crucifix that incorporated the communist symbol of the hammer and sickle. Morales also, the WSJ noted, “draped (Francis) with two medallions , one of which bore the former Soviet image. It was not reported whether Francis presented Morales with one of the “Angel of Peace” medallions like those Palestinian leader Abbas and Russian president Putin have been sporting since they met with His Holiness. (We’ll make no further comment on where we think the “communist crucifix” might find a place in the Vatican).
– Il Papa sounded more like a Latin American revolutionary leader as he “urged his audience to say no” to an economy of “exclusion and inequality”. He called for an economy of Christian inspiration” which would “guarantee” everyone, not only the basics of land, housing, and employment, but also “access to education, health care, new technologies, artistic, and cultural manifestations, communications, sports, and recreation” (Whew!, Enough to wear a Pontiff out).
It was unclear whether His Holiness assured that his favored one world government would also provide “Francisphones”, with 500 free minutes/month, but perhaps that was inadvertently omitted from his remarks.
– Inspired not only by scripture, it seems clear to us that Francis also isn’t ashamed to borrow campaign tips from other ideological soul mates. He called for a goal of “the globalization of HOPE”.
“We can achieve it!”, he told the crowd. He urged his audience of “farmers, artisans, rag-pickers, and un-unionized workers to join in the great processes of change” through political participation and forms of “communitarian production (???)”, such as “workers’ cooperatives”.
There was more but Pope Francis appears to be just getting warmed up so we look for more of his apologies, solutions, and borrowed leftist anti-America slogans” as his Latin American “big adventure” wraps up and he prepares to visit the “Great Satan”…oops! not Francis’s characterization of America. Rather , America the home of the “dung of the devil”, that “unfettered’ capitalism!
Viva il Papa and Bernie Sanders and Ariana Grande’!!!! DLH
Who will apologize for the Indigenous for the ritual sacrifices?
Do you mean those ritual sacrifices performed by the “gringoes”? Or maybe those perpetrated by Che Guevara while he and Fidel were creating their “workers’ paradise” for all the “artisans and ragpickers” in Cuba. Maybe Evo Morales will apologize for them…it’s always satisfying to “humbly apologize” for the sins of somebody else.
