Megyn Kelly and Erick Erickson — Red face and Red State

Actually Megyn Kelly of Fox News and Erick Erickson of Red State should both be red faced after their hypocritical performances with regard to Donald Trump — her act as the insulted demure news princess and his as the chivalrous publisher.  Consider our comments below. For the record, the articles we posted earlier today, The Meaning of Trump , along with our commentary therein, approximates our current views on Donald Trump, the candidate for the Republican presidential nomination.

Megyn the demure

The usual suspects have been clucking for a day or two about, what else, comments Trump made about the attitude towards him by Megyn Kelly, one of the Fox News questioners in the presidential candidate forum last Thursday.  The clucking was the result of strained accusations that Trump’s complaint that Kelly’s demeanor was that of  ~~ “blood coming out of her eyes and” (pause showing inarticulate reaching) “wherever”  ~~ the later insinuated to be an extreme sexist comment. The only thing it was, was Trump being his unrehearsed sometimes inarticulate self.

Kelly is given undeserved credit by the same suspects for wrapping herself last night in a pose of being above it all and just trying to do her journalistic job. In the meantime scores of dump Trump opportunists are out there aggressively excoriating Trump with her tacit encouragement. Tacit by virtue of her refusal to actually call off the dogs and give Trump at least the benefit of the doubt regarding the calamitous accusations .  However, apparently the American people see through the phoniness and hyperbolic drama and Trumps approval ratings seem to have increased.

Maybe they remember that Megyn just a few years ago appeared on the Howard Stern radio show.  Ms Megyn was content to appear in the first place on the sex oriented radio  talk show hosted by notoriously lascivious acting Stern, and second, to contentedly converse with him before a huge broadcast audience about breasts penises and sex — and not walk off.

Red State’s Erickson should be red

Erick Erickson, is the founder of the conservative Web site publishing venture Red State. He was so scandalized by what he decided to believe about Trump’s comments directed at Kelly that he dis-invited Trump from the conservative gathering Red State sponsored this past weekend.  But consider that Erickson is no stranger to controversial statements and innuendo. From Wikipedia:

In 2011 Democrat  Jim Webb , the senior  United States Senator  from Virginia, announced that he would not seek re-election in 2012. Republican  George Allen  announced that he would try to win back the seat that he  lost to Webb in 2006 , but Erickson declined to endorse the “establishment” Allen, complaining of Allen’s voting record. Erickson stated that he had “decided to support ( Tea Party  organizer)  Jamie Radtke  for the Senate.” [23]  In August, however, Erickson approvingly quoted anonymous commentators who alleged that when Radtke spoke at a RedState gathering she was a “drunk rambling idiot.” [24]  According to an email sent earlier by Erickson to the Radtke campaign and forwarded to  Ben Smith , Erickson admitted having revised his public opinion about Radtke because “my bosses are huge Allen friends.” [25]  Smith had previously raised questions about Erickson’s independence from the financial interests of his employer by noting that an official with RedState.com’s publisher had sent out an email that appeared to be selling Erickson’s endorsement. [26]      . . .

In April 2009, Erickson posted to Twitter the following about  Supreme Court Justice  David Souter: “The nation loses the only goat fucking child molester to ever serve on the Supreme Court in David Souter’s retirement”, a tweet that Erickson later admitted was the dumbest thing he ever did. [30] [31] [32] [33] In an appearance on the  Colbert Report, Erickson said the Twitter statement was “not my finest hour”. [15]

In August 2009, Erickson stated on his blog: “A while back, Glenn Beck called Barack Obama a ‘racist.’ Given all the terrorists, thugs, and racists Barack Obama has chosen as close personal friends (see e.g. Rev. Wright), it’s not a stretch to say it.” [34]

Erickson has  tweeted controversial remarks regarding feminists, including (in response to a 2010 Super Bowl ad) the following: “That’s what the  feminazis were enraged over? Seriously?!? Wow. That’s what being too ugly to get a date does to your brain”  [35] and “Turned on twitter today and there was a barrage of angry feminists upset with me telling them to get in the kitchen and learn to cook”; “Good thing I didn’t suggest the feminists … you know … shave. They’d be at my house trying a post-birth abortion on me”; “Feminists have no sense of humor, but clearly God did in creating feminists.”; [36]

Actually this writer does not find Erickson’s comments “wrong” we just suggest he get off his high horse.     R Mall
