This could be a postcard from Francis to Nancy and Joe and Dick the Turbin, “wish you were here!”
Pope Francis is not the first Pope to appear here but we kind of suspect old Che was polished up for the fellow Argentine. Would, or rather should, any Pope agree to appear or stage a major event under or around the prominent visage of . . . name your favorite reprobate? Our answer is no.This is not humility in service to the Church. There are more practicing Catholics in Chicago than Cuba and they would attend out of free will. Of course the Machine there would probably throw up an Obama sculpture as backdrop. Oh well.
