Elect a Speaker who will stop the Obamanation

No to any speaker candidate who will not use the Constitutionally ordained power of the purse to stop the Obamanation. No to Paul Ryan.

isBelow are email contact points for Iowa’s three Republican Congressmen. They  represent  the bulk of our readership’s geographic profile. All Republican House members are reachable by way of the Legislator Links item on our page bar above.  We are pleading for e-mails or phone calls to their offices encouraging support for a conservative to be Speaker of the House who will use the constitutionally ordained power of the purse to stop Obama’s harmful policies.

There is much buzz about Congressman Paul Ryan as the best choice for speaker. Best choice for who? Congress is under no obligation to and should not be funding programs predictably adverse to our country’s well-being as an exercise in compromise, much less  Obama’s harmful executive orders. The country needs political leaders willing to say no to Obama’s harmful and unconstitutional policies. By his record Paul Ryan has not shown any fortitude and he has been a disappointment as a spokesman for conservative policies.

Conservative commentators have observed that Ryan is “one of less than a dozen Republican congressmen to have voted for every bailout to come before Congress.”     Paul Ryan is also notorious for promoting the “gang of eight” amnesty for illegal immigration proposal now abandoned by its lead sponsor in the Senate, Marco Rubio.  Why would House conservatives want a pro-amnesty supporter who refuses to hold the line on spending and debt increases  — a weak sister with the power of the purse?

With reference to the recent continuing resolution vote, Republicans should consider no one who was part of the 91 Republicans who voted with every Democrat to continue funding all aspects of the Obamanation, including his amnesty executive orders and Planned Parenthood’s funding. Paul Ryan was one of the 91.

One hundred and fifty-one Republicans voted no. They were left to hang by current Republican leadership including Paul Ryan. Republicans need a speaker that does not wreak of business as usual, a pushover on negotiations because he is so quick to give up political leverage and the power of the purse under threats of “veto”.

The idea of someone with Ryan’s immigration amnesty record and the favorable anticipation towards him by open-borders types such as Congressman Luis Gutierrez (D) being made Speaker is demoralizing.  Why would conservative Republicans, if they are telling the truth about their views on such matters, consider Ryan supportable? Paul Ryan may be willing to loosen up some of the grip of the speakership, but would he be an effective spokesman for the politically crucial agenda of border control, stopping the financial drain on the welfare system caused by illegal immigration and the political and cultural transformation of the country (as opposed to assimilation)?

How formidable a bargainer would Ryan be on spending, his supposed forte, when he won’t employ leverage using the power of the purse to protect the Constitution (as the 151 tried to do)? He has demonstrated that his position statements, however grand, and however well thought of he is personally, can be ignored.

Perhaps some of the above statements can serve as talking points.

Congressman Rod Blum   https://blum.house.gov/contact/email

Congressman Steve King  https://steveking.house.gov/contact

Congressman David Young  https://davidyoung.house.gov/contact/email

Other Republican members of Congress can be reached from the links available here:  https://www.veritaspac.com/legislator-links/

Note that Blum and King voted with the majority of Republicans, the 151, who honored their pledges to do all in their power to stop Obama’s illegal immigration amnesty policies and to defund Planned Parenthood by rejecting the most recent continuing resolution without amendments.  David Young voted with the 91, insisting on nothing from Obama or Democrats.
