Here’s hoping for a primary challenge to “Republican” Mark Kirk

Will the likes of Karl Rove beam money to a challenger?

The tease above is a joke of course. Rovians only beam money to RINO’s challenging conservatives.

U.S. Senator from Illinois Mark Kirk has a Heritage Action Scorecard percentage of 16%. Their scorecard covers issues that actually drive conservatives as opposed to those that are more focused on money related interests. Kirk’s ranking puts him in serious Democrat territory.   How deep? . . . well dozens of Democrats in Congress have the same or a higher ranking. But that is too sterile a comparison. Elizabeth Warren has the same ranking. Still sterile?  How about Luis Gutierrez and Zoe Lofgren or Jerry Nadler? How about a tad better than Barbara Lee?  We can only hope they are all sterile but that is bit off track.

Of more significance still,  Kirk has the same ranking as the all but coronated  Democrat Senate candidate to run for the seat —  Congressman Tammy Duckworth.  Yet Republicans are expected to support Mark Kirk? Conservatives are expected to overlook his championing of same-sex marriage, his support for funding Planned Parenthood, and the F rating from the NRA and Gun Owners of America?  Kirk was also the only Republican to oppose attempts to pass “Kate’s law” – the bill that would place sanctions on local governments that provide sanctuary to illegal aliens.  Even on tax, spending and regulatory issues Kirk varies between second and third lowest Senate Republican in current and life-time rankings issued by the Club for Growth.

Republicans would be better off nominating Illinois Democrat Congressman Dan Lipinski.  At least he is 30% by Heritage, about twice so than Kirk.
