The moment that President Obama spotted the vacant look in the eyes of Ashton “Ash” Carter he knew he had his pick for the next Secretary of Defense. And what a keen observation it was and what a choice for that crucial Cabinet post at precisely the time it could dramatically advance Obama’s agenda of national decline and eventual catastrophic “transformation”. Sergey, not so much on “socializing”
“Ash” Carter is the perfect stooge for a wannabe despot like Obama. With virtually no visible signs of courage or acumen, or even thought of his own, this was the guy who would happily, though transparently, dimwittedly, preside over the virtual demolition of the greatest armed forces structure in human history.
Here are some of Ash’s “accomplishments” in the relatively short time he has headed the Pentagon (some of these he inherited from his hapless predecessor, “Chuck” Hagel, and the highly political, but at least still conscious, Leon Panetta. Nevertheless , Ash continued and “improved ” upon them with great glee and in return, received an Obama pat on the head :
Terrorism on the run . . . Cut troop levels
– Presided over, with enthusiasm and not a murmur on behalf of his dept., the reduction of 40,000 from already perilously low troop levels throughout all branches of our Armed Forces in the face of the greatest global threats since the 1930’s.
One thing is clear about Secretary Carter’s perception of his role and responsibilities. He obviously sees no obligation to defend his “turf”. Prior to the Obama reign, the positions key to the nation’s security and defense in the president’s Cabinet are the Secretaries of State and Defense. Virtually every one of Obama’s predecessors chose people of formidable intelligence, strong sense of duty, and the courage, willingness and ability to defend and debate on behalf of their respective departments in the constructive competition for funds, manpower, and resources.
Nothing further needs be said about Obama’s “picks” for these posts!
Who needs mission training and resources? Let’s go ‘Green and Gay’ and ‘diverse “!
– Another of “Ash” Carter’s ‘greatest hits’ is the staggering amount of money and vital resources from defense and national security programs critical to the constitutionally prescribed mission of the Pentagon to pet progressive panderings. Under “Ash” Carter it is breathtaking. Consider the resources which will be diverted from combat training and force protection and vital project development to such things as the active recruitment of Transgenders, offering the enticement of health care coverage for “gender-changing” surgery; or the consequences of the inevitable “moderating” of training and fitness standards to carry out the forced (and, believe it or not, it is forced) integration of females into every “MOS” or job specialty in the military, including every specialty in the most elite and demanding units.
Mabus as the “Jolly GREEN Giant”
– And then, there’s the diversion of scarce funding toward progressives’ wet dreams like the extremely costly “green” fuel for the Navy’s fighting ships. Under another of the Ash’s Defense Department “Dream Team”, Roy Mabus, Secretary of the Navy.
In what can only be described as a rejected comedy skit from Saturday Night Live, Secretary Mabus seems torn to decide which of his actions are his proudest moments:
* The deeply thoughtful Mr. Mabus has proudly enrolled the might and proud tradition of the US Navy and Marines in the planet-saving “green movement”. In a spectacular disregard for the tactical and strategic needs of this nation that our Navy, in its national defense role, has historically met, a mountain of desperately needed funds to accomplish its mission are being used instead to power our fighting ships with “renewable fuels”. A recent military exercise off Hawaii, at the Secreatary’s direction burned blends of 50% ‘biofuels’/50% conventional fuels. The good news? The Fleet performed well; the bad news? It cost the Navy “only” $27 per gallon for 450,000 gallons of biofuels produced from algae, waste grease, and animal fat—versus about $3.50 per gal. for standard petroleum fuels. Finally, to meet Sec. Mabus’ goal to make half the Navy’s fuel “green’ by 2020 will add almost $2 billion annually to its fuel bill. At the same time, the Navy fleet has been reduced to its lowest levels since John Paul Jones was a just a lad and the Defense Dept. faces budget cuts of $13 billion for Navy shipbuilding in the next 4 years.
He don’t need no stinkin’ facts; he has his own!
Sec. Mabus has more than Jolly Green ‘achievement’ to crow about. Fortunately, we understand Roy was behind a lectern when he announced what perhaps he hopes will be his legacy. Thus, the press could not verify that he was wetting his pants in his enthusiasm. (We’ll presume he did. He seems that kind of guy.)
This was the thoughtful Mr. Mabus asserting his superior intellectual and analytical superiority as he rejected an extensive study indicating that all-male units performed significantly better on 69 percent of tactical tasks, and female troops were injured at more than twice the rate as men. Accompanying the study’s results was the Marine Corps’ request for exemption from the new “gender-neutral” employment policy in “Ash” Carter’s Defense Department. Roy was having none of that. He was very assertive in noting that the study just didn’t measure up to his standards for evaluating such matters.
Ash and Roy are currently celebrating the wisdom of their decision announced last week that ALL military specialties will now be open to women. But Ash assures to never fear…qualifying standards will not be compromised…just “reevaluated”. He further assures that the is will make our armed forces stronger and more effective, unit cohesiveness will not be affected (Hurray!)
Humiliating the Marines…unconscionable!
While Sec. Mabus didn’t rush out to claim it as another of his “accomplishments” but surely he took pride in the Marines’ performance in Yemen. Some of us recall the aftermath of the fall of the government there (which Obama only shortly before had designated as a model for his “strategy” of leading from his behind (or something like that).
Our US Marines were withdrawn from that country and were subjected to one of the most humiliating exhibitions in United States military history. They had to do the equivalent of breaking their Mameluke Sword and surrender the pieces to Yemen authorities before they were allowed to leave the country on civilian air transport. (Only a guess but I’ll bet the Navy Secretary made sure that each of the leathernecks got their full frequent flier miles.)
But there’s more
This is only a partial recounting of Ash Carter’s illustrious term as Secretary of Defense:
– He has happily followed the Obama administration desires to dishonor in other ways, our military. Witness the Bowe Bergdahl fiasco and the firing of a decorated Special Forces officer for abusing an Afghan mayor/ child rapist (Is that who we are, President Obama…Ash Carter????)
– Ash stood by with that dumpy grin as Obama purged the military of its apolitical, experienced, dedicated warriors among senior officers in all branches, especially elite units. It seemed to never occur to Sec. Carter that his principal role is to evaluate and press the urgent needs of America’s Defense establishment in opposition to those who would joyfully strip it of relevance and effectiveness in supporting the nation’s interests.
– Speaking of THE issue that Mr. Carteris aggressively dealing with: he and his predecessor were keen to perceive that there was a critical shortage of transgenders in our armed forces. Based on claims by advocates for the LGBT community, the presence of only 15,000 transgenders has apparently judged a great risk to our military effectiveness. As noted, this will be rectified even if “Ash” must cut more than 40,000 active service personnel in order t o reach some desired level.
– In addition to starving the military as a hostage to Obama’s aims to increase spending on domestic programs, especially relocation of refugees and added welfare spending on illegal immigrants, Ash, again with that goofy look on his face, and his minions were proclaiming how all of this was going to vastly improve readiness, combat effectiveness, and unit cohesion!!!
– Other aspects of our Armed Forces which Ash Carter has helped to diminish might include the Military Chaplains Corps. What effects have not been fully realized resulting from the gay issues and chaplains’ Christian teachings.
The good news, though, we have our first gay Secretary of the Army , another without military service, to work with Ash.
Yessir, there’s an Obama Cabinet officer!

The person standing in the rumpled pantsuit is Secretary of Defense Ash Carter of the U.S. Secretary Carter has made it perfectly clear that had he turned out in a skirt, discipline and readiness would be the same. By the way, from a cursory check it appears that only Sweden’s now former Defense Minister Enström served in the military.
In only a few short years, the military that i knew and was proud of has been reduced to a string of reckless social engineering fiascos predestined to turn the military into the largest goat rope in history.
