“Take my wife…PLEASE!”

Lindsey Graham, coming off his “successful” run for the GOP presidential nomination…what did he get , a full percentage point? …announced his support for his old pal, Ted Cruz, for the nomination.

It’s only been a little while ago, in the heat of his campaign, however, that Senator Graham was telling folks that “…if you killed Ted Cruz on the floor of the Senate, and the trial was in the Senate, nobody would convict you” (is that funny, or what?).

But that was all bygones yesterday as Graham told many of the same folks that Cruz “…is a Republican conservative who I could support.”

He added though, that John Kasich is a better candidate! (Huh?)

Some pundits we’re aware of, including Rush Limbaugh, have alluded to Graham’s bizarre “non-endorsement” endorsement of Cruz as actually just a part of the “Stop Trump” effort. If successful, it would be one of the steps toward an “open convention” in Cleveland, which the GOP establishment hopes would result in the selection of a candidate much more to their liking than either Trump or Cruz.

To us, it appears that one of the Senate’s top comedians has launched the first step in the strategy developed at the recent “Sea Island” meeting of the Washington establishment’s donor class.

Mr. Graham’s announcement of his support for Cruz reminded us more of one of our favorite comedians, Henny Youngman and a version of one of his favorite quips: ”Take my great friend and colleague Ted Cruz…PLEASE!”
