Wall Street Journal urges Protesters for Trump to Stash the “Make America Mexico Again” signs; They’re Hurting the Cause
This is rich. Monday’s Wall Street Journal includes an editorial bemoaning the antics of all those anti-Trump protesters. Interestingly, though, one can fairly conclude from the editorial and the Journal’s past editorial/op-ed efforts that the paper’s real concern is not the violent denial* of free speech the protesters are engaging in.
“I think it’s going to get worse if he gets the nomination and is the front-runner. I think it’s going to escalate,” Luis Serrano, an organizer with California Immigration Youth Justice Alliance, told the Los Angeles Times. “We’re going to keep showing up and standing against the actions and the hate Donald Trump is creating.”
Even Americans who don’t support Mr. Trump may hear this and wonder who is really creating hate. The spectacles are made-for-ratings cable TV fodder, and Mr. Trump knows it. Every protester who breaks the law or waves a Mexican flag as a political statement in favor of illegal immigration might as well be voting for Mr. Trump.
Most certainly it is also not in support of Mr. Trump’s candidacy or even the Journal’s editorial board’s defense of free open elections focussing on the vital issues facing America.
No, it seems. The folks at the Wall Street Journal are deploring the oppressive tactics of the pro-illegal immigration mobs because they fear it will actually encourage US citizens to support Mr. Trump even more!
Perhaps the Journal believes that its readers and many Americans have forgotten or never knew how enthusiastic for “open borders” they and the big business interests, the donor class, the US Chamber of Commerce, and the political establishment on both sides of the aisle have been.
Possibly the editors at the Journal have themselves forgotten that it was Donald Trump who most aggressively responded to the plea of millions of ordinary Americans to stop the flood of illegal immigrants. As they threaten the existence of various of the nation’s institutions, strain our welfare and education resources, take the jobs “ Americans refuse to do” because the invaders will do them for less pay ( and thus requiring runaway deficit spending to provide the benefits to relieve the suffering of our country’s own jobless citizens).
Now, as the advocates and activists reveal their true intentions…to turn America into another “Mexico”, by force if need be…the Journal is alarmed!
Alarmed that is, because a fed up electorate may be spurred to take back America for Americans and elect Donald Trump!*
How “nationalistic”! …and “nativist”.
