Bret Stephens has got to be the dictionary depiction when you look up smug, snotty, east coast snobs.

Last week Bret was telling the world that THE best thing ‘good Americans’ can do this November is to join with this little twit and do everything possible to put Hillary in the White House and have Trump lose so badly that us conservatives will never again be disrespectful to the ‘velly smaht’ Washington establishment!
Tuesday’s column, Bret, the Brightest, patiently instructs us on the ways in which we are ignorant fools when it comes to Mexico, illegal immigrants, and perfect free trade agreements (that’s why people like Obama negotiate them in secrecy ’cause we’re too stupid to understand such wildly smart deals):
a) contrary to what our lyin’ eyes tell us, Mexico is a super-great state; its murder rate is less than Philadelphia and Miami (whew! that’s relief!),
b) And that stuff you may have heard about that wide open border we have with Mexico, being a threat to US security. Silly us. All 19 9/11 hijackers came in on legal visas! (just a tip, Bret, that was, let’s see, oh yeah, 2001; since then, especially in the era of Obama and your candidate, millions have crossed that border. Is it possible one or two aren’t here to pick grapes?)
c) ‘Illegal immigrants a drain on the system” ?! Boy! Does that tick Bret off. Those 20 million or so illegals here are paying “billions” in state and local taxes and billions more in Social Security taxes! Without those fruits and vegetables they pick, Americans would be starving.
d) The “real drain” on the US economy according to Bret, “it’s Mexicans going home…!!!”
There’s more, but unless you enjoy reading a smug eastern liberal, posing as something he never was, talking down to you because, well after all, which elite eastern boarding school did you attend?, wait until Wednesday and get somebody’s day old WSJ.
