A petty political view about Ted Cruz flying to Dallas with Obama on Air Force One

The question arose, why would Ted Cruz accompany Obama to Dallas? Yes, we know the usual explanations, but Obama has, in our opinion, a grave responsibility for what happened there.

But the usual are the only explanations, however weak — “calm the restives,” “show unity”  But unity on what? For Obama’s part he went there to do no more than obtain photo ops with grieving cop widows and say a few nice presidential things while out of the other side of his mouth to blow dog whistles, devoting part of the speech to an apologia for black agitators, and how police must mend their ways.

Cruz could bring nothing to help calm the real problem element, the race baiters.  He is the enemy and they are Obama’s storm troopers and Obama’s responsibility, if Obama had any sense of responsibility.

Certainly Cruz needs to be in Dallas , it is his state, but why lend credence to Obama?  He should have said thanks but “I am already scheduled on another flight.” A better “optic” would be to be there ahead of him. What can a stupid plane ride accomplish, there will be no serious policy discussions on the plane and supposedly Obama is leaving office, we are told. It looks like grand establishment BS.  Better to have linked up with GW who showed real class in his comments.  The ride, however well intentioned, was a niggling bad call in our petty view.

Want snarky leftist take on” the trip.”   See here and here.

Petty? Nah, I don’t think so. Disappointing judgment on the part of Cruz. Joins with Obama to give a patina of credibility to another of Obama’s cynical political ploys. Perhaps we should be pleased that, at least as far as I know, Ted didn’t agree to a “selfie” with his new BFF.
Ted, how about getting on board wholeheartedly with the Trump candidacy? You were my preference but now America’s future is in the bottom of the ninth and we need a run.
