Many readers may have had some trepidation after the election looking forward to Thanksgiving dinner and how to handle the subject of politics should it be a “mixed dinner.” Ours went well as the particular convocation was quite unified on the subject of politics, but with a little different travel arrangements, perhaps it would not have been.
In that regard we must give special credit for magnanimity to resident Dowd family member, and NY Times columnist, the anti-Trump smart-ass, Maureen Dowd. While responsible for her own column, she provided her brother, and by implication the rest of her conservative family, plenty of say.
