Recall also how the “OBAMAPRESS” was making comparison to G W Bush’s total vacation days versus Obama’s, hoping to illustrate what a hardworking, thrifty guy His Highness was compared to Bush.
Another major difference we’ve noted, however, was that Bush’s vacations were usually if not exclusively at the Bush ranch where security was simpler, all necessary facilities were in place, traffic disruptions were rare…and the press folks were bored to death because there was little glitter and luxury. Certainly key to objective comparison is how truly Bush’s ranch time was more “Western White House” than vacation.
The Obama vacations were usually at a different mansion in Hawaii in the winter and On Martha’s Vineyard in the summer. In each instance, massive security arrangements had to be set up anew (unlike at the Bush ranch) and traffic tie-ups were every day experiences for the residents of the community, so Barack could show off his cycling tights, or when the Obamas chose to jet down to the Big Apple for dinner and a show.
I don’t recall that the Bushes were into “separate holiday weekend getaways” with Barack going to exotic golf courses for a few rounds while Michelle was off with Malia and Sasha to a ski resort. I don’t even recall the Bush daughters taking their spring break “own their own” (accompanied by only a couple dozen Secret Service agents for security). And let’s not forget those frequent “diplomatic missions” to far off lands by Michele, with the girls always in tow and Momma Robinson soaking up the cultural features.
But taxpayer-provided luxury living is just a small price to pay for having a god-like figure astride among us.

(Washington DC)—Judicial Watch announced today that it obtained records from the U.S. Secret Service revealing that its travel expenses for the First Family’s 2015 Hawaiian vacation cost taxpayers $1.2 million, which bring the total cost of the vacation trip to at least $4.8 million. This was the Obamas’ eighth Hawaiian family vacation. The trip has become an annual event for the Obamas. To date, Obama’s and his family’s travel expenses total at least $85,029,819.

Judicial Watch filed a FOIA request for these documents in January 2016. The records were released in response to a FOIA lawsuit filed on May 6, 2016, (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Homeland Security (No. 1:16-cv-00863)). The lawsuit was filed after the Secret Service ignored a series of separate FOIA requests for costs associated with the president’s travel.

Rather than seeing this decision as a sign of excellent parenting and appreciating the fact that this woman doesn’t rely on nannies to raise her kid — she’s reportedly very hands-on and even takes him to school herself — liberals saw a big problem in it. Secret Service will secure the Trump Tower like the White House to protect this mother and her son and will do daily sweeps of Barron’s school in addition to having his own team of security since we’ve all seen how rabid anti-Trumpers can be.
So, Obama fans, who didn’t say ‘boo’ about him racking up more debt than ALL the previous Presidents COMBINED are suddenly concerned about… SPENDING?
