Tech Founder: Middle America Is Too ‘Violent, Stupid And Racist’ For New Jobs
Melinda Byerley, MBA and founder of Timeshare CMO, a Silicon Valley-based tech start-up, tweeted out Saturday afternoon describing what middle America could do to “get more jobs in their area.”
In the meantime her corporate betters have other thoughts:
Fiat Chrysler to spend $1B to make Jeep pickups in Midwest plants
Ford cancels Mexico plant, expands U.S. factory and adds 700 jobs
Donald Trump’s deal with Carrier could save 1,000 jobs in Indianapolis
To be sure these companies are incentivized to some extent, but the grand attractions of the West Coast somehow are not compelling.
We probably should add the recent decision by Sterilite to “like” Davenport. Of course what company wouldn’t with the giveaways offered. Our compliments to Supervisor Diane Holst for her truth-telling and assiduousness with taxpayer dollars.
Ms Byerley is profoundly ignorant of comparative educational scores which, for pretty much ever, have ranked Midwest students higher in standardized testing than West Coast students. But there is hope for her ilk as the educational establishment and teachers unions are succeeding in dumbing-down basic student achievements everywhere. California is 45th in the nation and Iowa, a former perennial top five, is now 17. Iowa is heading your way California!
