Reflecting his foot in mouth, foot back in mouth policy
“If the posturing was pure politics, it seems like stupid politics. First off, Mr. Rubio didn’t give John Vietnam Kerry this difficult of a time and one could reasonably argue that Kerry’s behavior regarding the Vietnam war was disloyal or treasonous. Second, does Mr. Rubio want to start off with the new president from a position of hostility, and who is giving him this genius advice? Third, if he sets up a purely adversarial role now, how will later concessions look to his loyal fans?”
To me, the above quote from Melissa McKenzie’s column in American Spectator says it all “What is Rubio up to?” .
This isn’t the first time Marco Rubio engaged in pure political posturing…but, this kind of stuff is exposing the senator as a frustrated, confused, confusing, little man…”the size of his hands” notwithstanding.
In his first term, he ran as a Tea Party candidate; but then, he became an enthusiastic proponent of “amnesty for illegals”. Then, seeing he infuriated his former constituency and wanting desperately to win the GOP nomination for president, he more or less repudiated that position, and became once again an arch conservative to regain his “temporarily” surrendered former position as senator.
Fresh from convincing voters that he was worthy of another senate gig, he’s apparently back into grandstanding as a McCain-type “maverick”…or is he?
When it comes to the ambitious, but confused and confusing “Little Marco”…who knows?
