The Presidents Speech

He didn’t stutter

The swearing in ceremony, the lead up,  the traditional pomp and circumstance were marvelous because they portend an American resurgence (we pray) . That Trump  delivered the criticisms he did about the political class, in this venue, was a welcome surprise as he reiterated his campaign promises.  Why shouldn’t he!!  And, as Trump went on to say, he invited other nations to follow our example for world-wide prosperity.

But there he was facing the people who elected him, his back to the alligators that for the most part are the problem.  As Rush Limbaugh  just remarked, he tripled down. He said he intends to dance with the ones that brought him.  It was very populist in tone, which has some dangers. Certainly Democrats and big government types play that card, but the populism Trump is appealing to includes a very healthy longing for less regulation, economic freedom, constitutional values, freedom from government debt.  Trumps following through on judicial nominees who will be responsible to the Constitution, portends a restorative check and balance to any temptation at overuse of executive authority.

This, close on the heals of the speech,  article  from Circa.com has merit:

Donald Trump eviscerates Washington in his inaugural address

Branco, the prolific and excellent conservative cartoonist at Americans for Prosperity, issued an appropriate visualization of what Trump promises in response to Obama’s  phone and pen edicts usurping executive authority:

As to Obama’s departure, we will muster all the sincerity and good will we can after his  abuses:

Wall Street Journal got a comment from “Paul” in Palm Harbor, FL: turned off by the populist tone of the speech, “I do find that incongruous relative to the people he nominated to his cabinet…none of whom seem to be representative of the common man”.
Hey Paul, did you happen to notice Obama’s? H. Clinton? Eric Holder? Tim Geithner? John Kerry?
