Concerns over his insufficient Benghazi investigation prompted departure.

– He advised the Trump presidential transition team on national security issues but was asked to leave at about the same time New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was removed as head of the transition.

Several news outlets are suggesting that Comey’s dismissal could ultimately result in a reopening of the “Hillary e-mail” case.
Other reports, as above, are that former GOP congressman, Mike Rogers is in the running for FBI Director.
If that happens Hillary is more likely to be nominated for a “Presidential Award for Honesty and Likability”. (Rogers as House Intelligence Committee Chairman “investigated” Benghazi and practically declared that the tragedy happened despite Hillary’s flawless management and attention to security.)
