WE ALL SHOULD, SOUTHERNERS OR NOT!
JEFFERSON DAVIS MONUMENT DECLARED A NUISANCE BY DEMOCRATS AND REMOVED… AFTER 106 YEARS
Still slated for removal, at a time to be determined, are the statue of Robert E. Lee at Lee Circle and the statue of P.G.T. Beauregard at the entrance to City Park.
– “Three weeks ago, we began a challenging but long overdue process of removing four statues that honor the “Lost Cause of the Confederacy. Today we continue the mission,” said Landrieu.
– “This morning we continue our march to reconciliation by removing the Jefferson Davis Confederate statue from its pedestal of reverence…”

A lot of good solid American citizens are at most vaguely aware of such events as occurring in New Orleans these days as leftists are removing significant symbols of the nation’s history as their removal fits their agenda.
But they should.
These days, the monuments are related to southern history… the Confederacy. Perhaps not regarded as a noble endeavor in America’s history by many but a significant one for certain.
According to Democrat Mayor Mitch Landrieu, removal of Civil War monuments is part of the “march toward reconciliation”.
Another view might consider this an effort to erase and rewrite history. That is a preoccupation of radical leftists and always one which advances their indoctrination agenda.
Now one might think that this is not that big a deal, but let’s consider where it logically leads to next.
Remember the Vietnam War.? Very unpopular…especially with the leftist radicals and uninformed, intellectually vulnerable college crowd (professors and students alike).
To many that conflict is an embarrassment and a “black mark” on our nation
‘s history. Recall all the myths around, which we won’t try to recount here but many were aimed at discrediting leaders and members of our military…over 50,000 of whom gave their lives.
You familiar with that monument in Washington D.C. that honors those men and women?
Is it incomprehensible that there might be many Americans who love to march with banners denouncing America’s past and chanting revolting slogans who can be convinced that we should begin “our march to reconciliation by removing” that monument…the Vietnam War Memorial? And where next?
DLH
When you deny history, you lose any lessons learned.
And what about that WWII Memorial?
You wouldn’t suppose there are any college professors, or lecturers, out there who are just so obsessed with the “evil” done by the United States in dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki to end that awful war, would you? Is it inconcievable that their ‘anguish’ and their ‘vast understanding’ of all that is moral has been passed on to thousands, maybe millions of uninformed and gullible students and former students who know nothing about that conflict except what they got from their “educators”?
In just a few years there will be no one left who had 1st hand, or even solid 2nd hand knowledge of the war for them to ask for a different perspective.
What then will stop the next generation of two-bit mayors from “beginning their march to reconciliation”?
