Did Pope Francis just call out the “alt.Catholics”?

This is just the kind of story the AP savors. It promotes the Catholic left’s high-minded ‘goodness’ while infuriating the regular mainline faithful…those who favor legal immigration, pro-life government policy, capitalism over Marxism, oppose socialized medicine, etc.
It seems that virtually all of the “official” Catholic press is firmly in the liberal camp….always eager to promote almost all elements of the Democratic Party’s far left agenda…until its “ox” suffers a slight little ‘nip’…never what it considers a “gore” (so maybe Obamacare isn’t perfect; the Little Sisters of the Poor shouldn’t get too crazy about their opposition to it.)
Pope Francis, himself, has made clear that the Church’s traditional stances on such things as abortion and gay marriage should not be “obsessed over”. Especially not at the expense of the Pontiff’s favorite Marxist themes, embodied in “liberation theology”, an ideology discredited by Francis’s predecessors. The Church now has a Pope who is particularly keen about global redistribution of wealth and his favorite means of accomplishing it…the “climate change” movement!
Thus we get the ‘Francis-Vatican’s’ version of the “basket of deplorables”…those dastardly “Alt.Catholics”!:

A close confidant of Pope Francis has written a blistering critique of how the American Christian right and some U.S. Catholics mix religion and politics.
The Rev. Antonio Spadaro (spa-DAH-roh) accused evangelical political activists and Catholics who work with them of using religion to promote conflict and hate.
Spadaro wrote Thursday that some of these activists have wrongly framed Donald Trump’s ascent to the presidency as a “divine election.” And Spadaro accused conservative Christian activists of trying to bring about a religious purification of the United States through deportations and the building of walls to keep out immigrants.
Spadaro is editor of the influential Jesuit journal La Civilta Cattolica. The Vatican approves the articles in the magazine, which has become something of an unofficial mouthpiece of the papacy under Francis.
