- Expect same fifth-column work as from H.R. McMaster?
We are seeking to exhibit a bit of irony, make that outright sarcasm, in our subject line but one has to wonder: who really chose Wray? — Comey? Or Mueller? or Chuck Schumer? Sheesh!
The overwhelming confirmation vote (92-5) of Christopher Wray assures the investigation of the leaks will almost certainly duplicate the FBI’s goofball investigation of Hillary Clinton’s email misdeeds, in our opinion of course.
When a Trump nominee gets 92 Senate votes, you can be sure that nominee will not be friendly to the president and his administration. In fact, we expect Obama holdovers, McCabe and Rosenstein will continue in the FBI for a long time.
Consider the vote for H.R. McMaster as National Security advisor – Trump’s regrettable pick no doubt because McCain told him he would wire an easy confirmation, and it was at 82 to 10. We know how sincere McCain wants to help Trump. Another sheesh.
Consider Schumer’s remarks at the time, one of the few opposing McMaster, perhaps as a rope a dope gesture:
“I have a great deal of respect for both his integrity and his abilities. But I remain deeply concerned that Gen. McMaster’s judgment may not be followed and instead the fevered dreams of Mr. Bannon will influence the most sensitive national security discussions and decisions,” Schumer said.
Wow, Schumer was concerned McMaster’s judgement would not be followed, not about his core beliefs. So he knew McMaster’s judgement which has proven to be anti-Trump. So far McMaster “judgement” has prevailed and liberal Dems are for the most part delighted. Trump has not fired him, Obama’s Iran agreement remains intact. Trump owes an explanation.
