A post yesterday by our Illustrious Senior Editor referenced a report from Allahpundit at Hot Air regarding wind-driven efforts to “censure” Trump in the House over what are calumnious interpretations of Trump’s response to the Charlottesville protests. DLH offered up a list of GOP Senators who would surprise no one if they too supported censure if not impeachment in order to rid America of Trump, a pain in their arse for his efforts to save the country from the worst of what they in many cases helped wrought and have done too little to correct.
McConnell, Corker, Susan Collins, McCain, Lindsey Graham, Lisa Murkowski, Flake, Sasse, Scott (S Car), Hatch, Dean Heller, Tillis, Cornyn, Moran, Cory Gardner, Roberts (KS),Thad Cochran, Lamar Alexander, Rob Portman, oh and one late entry would be Marco “The Pious” Rubio. While Democrat Joe Manchin is “prayerful”, but votes as he’s told by Schumer
I can’t argue with the list and I almost wish there was a formal move against Trump so as to clearly paint who’s who. However for me hope springs from how pathetic Republican legislative leadership is. Call them weak-kneed survivalists. Use that quality against them. We note that few if any have ever pushed for term limits (what and end our sinecure!!). Maybe one or two have given it lip service but only that. But their desire for reelection, to retire as very old from the Senate, is their Achilles heal.
Trump has a true knack for effectively communicating directly to people. He should continue to do so with due diligence. As a result, what the GOP establishment hears from the rank and file, who already hold them and the media/Democrats in contempt for this farce, will give them pause to their intentions to “do him up.”
The GOP legislative leadership is a bunch who operate with their noses to the wind, regrettably planted where the liberal media emits the “breaking-wind” variety. The change could come from a stiffer purifying wind of “primary the bastards.”
*Warning – to readers “of an age” — if you run the clip you will not get the tune out of your head for a time. The voices will eventually cease however.
If Joe Heck and Kelly Ayotte hadn’t been cowards and would have stuck w/ Trump, there
would be 54 republican senators today.
54 seems only to count for keeping Mitch in a job several levels above his competence; 54 on issues of vital importance only counts when at least 50 of them are willing to do what they promise.
