New Yorker Writer Calls John Kelly’s Press Conference a ‘Preview’ of Military Coup
Referring to retired Marine Corps general and White House Chief of Staff John Kelly’s defense of President Trump’s condolence call to the widow of Army Sergeant LaDavid Johnson:
“The press briefing could serve as a preview of what a military coup in this country would look like,” wrote Masha Gessen for The New Yorker. Gessen, then with a mocking tone, flippantly attacked Kelly for recounting the procedure for sending a fallen soldier home.”
Somehow the description of the long custom of respect paid to the fallen and their families is an exaltation of a military takeover, a coup, of the country, invoking images of Third World dictatorships, that is how the left thinks.
And this is what a Third World politician sounds like:
“Rep. Maxine Waters, a leader in the resist-Trump movement, recently told a New York audience that she will “take out” the president, a video posted online last week shows.”
There are many accomplished, honorable, highly intelligent, capable and competent black Americans… Dr. Ben Carson, Condoleezza Rice (Cabinet Secretaries),
Justice Clarence Thomas, D.C. Appeals court Judge Janice Rogers Brown,
economists Thomas Sowell, Walter E. Williams,
former military leaders General Colin Powell, Col. Allen West,
Athletes Lynn Swann, Jim Brown,
major government figures Sen. Tim Scott, Rep. Mia Love,
business leaders Herman Cain, Antonio Williams (ComCast),
journalists Jason Riley (Wall Street Journal), Deroy Murdock,
…and many more, conservatives, liberals, moderates.
Yet, what kind of people do many black voters elect to represent them in the highest levels of our government…to the positions of greatest public exposure?
People like Rep. Maxine Waters, self-proclaimed “rock star” Rep. Fredericka Wilson, Reps. Barbara Lee, Sheila Jackson Lee, Elijah Cummings, Alcee Hastings, and others like them.
In these people you have Democratic Party endorsed politicians whose campaigns are based exclusively on promoting victimhood within their constituencies, sowing racial hatred, promising to ‘fight’ for equality by extorting money from “whitey”, never allowing honest discussion of the value and necessity of personal responsibility. These are people who celebrate the disgusting messages of hip hop rap celebrities as they “sing” of how to treat your “hos”, how you don’t need no schooling’, the glories of getting’ high. (You think that’s unfair or just the rant of an “alt.right” evangelical, Trumpist? Please, look up the greatest “hits” of the biggest names in hip hop and read the lyrics…and recall how a black former president welcomed them and their ‘lyrics’ into the White House and proclaimed them the great “talents” of our time.)
Many of the people “out front’ in our society, speaking for and representing American black people glorify murderous tyrants including Fidel Castro…incite riots which kill people, refuse to pay taxes, and become “go-to-guys” on race relations for a US president.
They base false and dangerous “righteous” movements on proven lies and erect ‘monuments’ to thugs who’ve attempted unrpovoked assaults on police and are killed as a result .
Many of them are elected officeholders who call for overthrow of lawfully established government agencies and even suggest a desire to see political opponents assassinated. Some have been reelected time after time though they’ve been convicted of corruption and criminal activity.
It is embarrassing and shameful that there are public officials, claiming to serve on behalf of their black constituents exhibit an inability to convey a coherent thought, lack the basic understanding of America, its values, and its many positive contributions to the world, and rely on false and divisive attacks in the most inflammatory racist terms.
It is an almost unassailable truth that many of the black politicians who run on no more than a promise to attack their constituents’ “white oppressors” actually do no more than enrich themselves and ‘reward’ their voters with empty promises and worse circumstances than before they were elected.
For me, it is unexplainable, heartbreaking, and pitiable to see someone like Frederica Wilson, a caricature of a “public servant” putting herself forward as a representative of her race and culture. And she, a one time “educator”…it is alarming to consider the extent of the damage done to the souls of the young people she must have touched in that role
