NBC plans live coverage of NFL players who may take a knee during national anthem at Super Bowl
“Some of the intensity of the protests… has lessened”, said NBC’s executive producer for the event, Fred Gaudelli.
“Probably since Thanksgiving, a lot of that has kind of dissipated and died down. It’s certainly possible it could happen again,” Gaudelli added…with giddy anticipation, we suspect.
– There is nothing surprising about this action by NBC. Probably the most arrogant, unpatriotic, shamelessly partisan leftist media organization in America.
– What is surprising, in a way, is why any major American company would be willing to pay $5 million per 30 second ad spot to support this decision and to be associated with the possible and seriously negative fallout ? Maybe there are some media buyers in some of these companies who are being ‘asked’ to rethink their decision. (We can only hope.)
– Also surprising, to a much lesser extent, is why NBC chose to make this announcement so well in advance ? They cannot possibly expect that it will increase viewership by former NFL fans who dumped that haplessly managed organization.
And do the pompous overlords of network television’s ‘worst of the worst’ believe they are beaming to the world the best image of America? Of course not!
– And, finally, does this decision encourage other leftist causes to prepare more elaborate, more theatrical protests for the promised press coverage at this “premier sporting event”? Obviously, NBC will be a very willing participant in spreading their messages, however repugnant to a vast majority of Americans they might be?
– Mr. Gaudelli could have added, “With any luck we may even be able to further divide the country…and whip up some real ‘Super Bowl-size’ resentment of one group of Americans toward another. Wow!” DLH
We can only hope . . .
What will the “revived” knee-takers protest this time?
– 4% economic growth? “Take us back to the Obama ‘glory years’ … one and a half %;
– highest black employment in history?! “No jobs! More welfare, that’s our cause!”;
– National optimism soaring? “Disgusting”, cries Kaepernick, the nation’s ‘Colon’.
– Companies sharing the benefits of tax cut? “Crumbs”, cry the millionaire players.
If they’re kneeling, I want it shown. I haven’t watched even a minute of NFL, and I’m not watching the Super Bowl. I cannot recall ever skipping the game.
